Sister Carlotta has been teaching Bean all sorts of interesting things recently. He's been very busy, learning, getting 'up to level', though he has no idea what level she's aiming for. Maybe just as high as he can. There have been regular tests. They've been getting harder. Some of them make absolutely no sense. Maybe he just hasn't lived long enough for them too.

In any case, Bean hasn't really missed that strange bar. He does, however, notice when he walks through the door. There's a lot more kids around today than he remembers from last time.
He doesn't hang around the door trying to work it out, though. Instead, he heads for the fireplace, and orders something to eat from a waitrat.

Bean hasn't been in the bar for a few months. He's still tiny. But he's bulked out a lot more than last time. He still looks closer to three than the five he estimates that he is, but he looks a lot healthier.

"Oh. This place again."

That said, he moves out of the way of the door and begins to explore.

First Entrance

Things changed immediately. Achilles works with them, honing the tactics, working to avoid giving themselves away so soon. Bean didn't bother much, none of them really liked him, and he had no other ideas, so he did his best to keep to the background.

Except for a couple of smart-arse comments at the door. Not that Achilles seemed to mind, given it had done exactly what it had been intended to do. Make him seem small, weak, and in need of protecting, to the lady on the door. Which just reinforced the arguments Achilles had been placing about a light outside and a policeman for line security.

He kept to the background for the next few weeks, too. They had his best. If he kept reminding them he was there, they'd start getting more annoyed about him being there. Not worth it.

But, Achilles never accepted him. Him and Poke. They're doomed, it's just a question of when.

One day, though, he exits the den where they hid out for most of the day, alone.

And he's not where he was.

He's inside. The room is large, and nicely furnished. Not that he actually knows what that means. It looks nicer than Helga's kitchen, anyway.

Milliways, there's one tiny kid who's just walked in and frozen in the door way. Meet Bean.

[ooc: Bean is 4, but physically, he looks like a two-year-old. A two-year-old who has been living on the edge of starvation for his entire life, until the past couple of weeks.]

It's a warm day, and Barty is in a good mood. England have just won their opening game in the Quidditch European Championships.

Right now, he's lying under a tree, half-reading, half-doing-nothing.

But today, he's sitting by a window. He's come back in from a walk round the lake, glad that it's getting a bit warmer now.

He is, as usual, reading.

It's far too quiet in the house. Cecilia finds herself drifting down an upstairs hallway with a wooden floor just to hear her footsteps echo, breaking the silence of her grief.

Today is Mothering Sunday, but there's no little boy with a sweet cherubic smile bringing her wildflowers clutched in a chubby fist; there's no young man leaning against the doorframe and holding out a bouquet, then bending down to kiss her cheek.

Her son -- her only child, Barty, her darling -- is in Azkaban.

Oh, how she wishes she could see him again! Maybe she can talk her husband into a visit today, of all days. With that thought in mind, Cecilia Crouch hurries down the hallway and opens the door at the end of it, rushing through into the room beyond-- and then stopping in her tracks, staring in shock at Milliways.
