Those who enter the bar today may notice more than the usual commotion. There is music, a table tucked in a corner for receiving gifts, and a festive banner. It has flamingos on it. Pink ones.

In addition, there is a modest sandwich board set on the Bar with the following proclamation in festive script:

"My wife is alive," he points out. "I am dead, for another five years. I am in no position to find anything trite. Tell me of her."

"Her name is Pyrrha," Teja says. "She came from darkness, was almost swallowed up again by darkness, and clawed her way out again and again. She remade herself after utter disaster, as I have done. She is an artist, working in soft an whimsical things: paper and fabric, paintings on walls and on flesh."

Will is busying himself looking through the basket, and pulls out a flagon of wine.

"What kind of darkness?"

He's always so vague, and Will, who is a very straightforward person, does his best not to be annoyed at this.

"Then I'm glad she's out of it," he offers, not sure where to go without details.

"I think in your time, they were called puritans and pietists?" Teja says. "That sort of religion. If it doesn't break the soul, it will foster rebellion -- so it was with her."

"She ran from the place where she was raised and found a place in the city with like-minded people," Teja says.

"No, I cannot imagine you would fall for a woman who would."

"She came as a surprise," Teja says. "But a good one."

"In any case, I do not think I would ask for passage on your ship soon."

"I expect to share a drink with you on the land before that happens."
