Happy Hour!

The Helena that walks into the bar is much happier and much more relaxed than she has been in many weeks.

As she walks up to Bar, she is presented with a cupcake and a napkin.

"Oh, I see how it is, darling, make the birthday girl do work for her dinner." She laughs, however. "Do not worry, darling. I will be just fine."

She turns, and in a quite old-fashioned and precise hand, writes on the Specials board:

Happy Hour!

Half-off if you tell a story about a birthday party; drink free if it is also your birthday!

She turns back and grins. "Alright, darlings, what will it be?"

Moist is tired as he enters since he's on the road and between jobs, when he spots Helena, he comes over with a smile,

"I know I can think of a good story about a birthday party. I've been to some interesting ones. Happy Birthday!"

His suit is a simple plaid that easily disappears into a crowd and shows signs of wear and travel.

Helena grins at him. "Oh, I would bet that you have some good stories, Al." She leans forward over the bar. "Do share. And thank you, darling."

"Do you want one about a human birthday or another species?"

When she leans his way, he closes the distance to kiss her cheek and her lips if she'll let him.

Helena kisses back with another grin. "Oh, something exotic, certainly." She's written about vivisection and Martians. Humans are so commonplace.

"Exotic, I like that. When the vampires hold their parties in Uberwald or at least before they became more civilized, everyone would lock their doors. There was one Count, vampires collect titles who convinced an entire girl's school to come visit him. The next morning, the village below his castle was full of very pale and very confused young women in nightgowns. It caused a huge scandal for the school but it turns out that one of the school mistresses was a vampire and rather close to the count."

She laughs, rather heartily. "Oh, that sounds like a bit of a faff. Did the young ladies suffer any... ill effects, shall we say?" She knows there are different sorts of vampires out there.

"Only one of them turned into a vampire but apparently she had leanings that way before it all started. They were just rather pale and swooned even more than the other ladies."

Helena rolls her eyes. "And that is how stereotypes get propagated." She shakes her head. "Well, bully for those ladies, and what can I get you to drink."

"A whiskey please and yes but they usually have some truth to them."

[timelessinventor]

"Some truth, but when you force them on someone, that is not on." She sighs, shaking her head and pouring him his drink. "I apologize. Charles liked to put me in a box too often for my taste."

"Well, yes, that's a different matter," He just knows how to use those boxes and assumptions to his advantage.

[timelessinventor]

"Quite." She shakes her head. "How have you been, Al? It's been a while."

[morethanprops]

"Hm, not too bad. I'm between things at the moment. How about you?"

"I've been on vacation for the past week and a half, to be honest. Things have been quite tense back home. Joshua and Artie have not been getting along at all."

"Oh dear, that must be difficult for everyone. It sounds as if the Warehouse can be rather close. Can I help by providing any distraction?"

He would love to see the Warehouse and Joshua is fun to distract.

"You might be able to, darling." She leans forward with a grin on her face. "What did you have in mind?"

"I've lots of ideas from ones that could cause a lot of trouble to some that are rather frivolous."
