Asar-Suti sat by the fire, looking into the flames and wondering about things. He had a book dangling from his fingers that had a reddish picture of a church on the cover, but he hadn't been reading in it for quite some while.

Ada's not too sick. Just sleepy. You are a good friend. He will like to see you. She licks Sooty's hand.

Will you show me where he is, then? Asar-Suti asked.

Yes, yes, yes! She squirms out of Sooty's arms and runs to the couch where Gorlim is napping curled up in one corner.

Asar-Suti bent over the sleeping figure. "Gorlim?" he said softly.

Gorlim blinks, smiles, and sniffles. "H'lo, Soots. Were you wanting to nab the couch, then?"

"Nah, you can have it all you like - you're sick, after all, poor fellow!"

He gently rubbed Gorlim's shoulder. "Can I get you some hot tea or something?"

"Aye, I am sick and I bloody well had it coming to me!" he says, scooting upright. "Still, I would take some tea, and thank you kindly."

Asar-Suti conjured him some herbal tea. "Here, this is that sage tea with thyme honey Gil has been testing on me; it tastes very nice and should be good for you," he said.

Anything invented by Gil had to be good, hadn't it?

Oh, absolutely.

Gorlim takes the tea and uses the mug to warm his hands.

"You're priceless, Sooty, have I mentioned that lately? Thank you." A smile as he breathes in the steam.

Asar-Suti grinned. "No, you didn't; but I enjoy being appreciated, anyway."
