Ray's shift in room 2342 is coming up later this evening, so he's put aside his reading material of earlier and is hard at work on... well, it involves a lot of screwdrivers and a small cold-heat tool and several boxes of components from Abra, at least one of which is labeled EVIL GENIUS (PK. 1). He's got the schematics projected in the air in front of him on the datapad he got for Christmas.
Wanna find out whether those tools burn when they hit a defenseless human? That's what'll happen if you startle him. On the other hand, he's usually pretty cool if people warn him before they get in range.

"Tired, been a long day. And I think I got a cold." You could even hear the congestion a little in his voice.

He then shook his head, "I can always get something from the infirmary if I have to. I'll live. Danny's a bigger concern right now. That what you working on now?"

"Thinking this might be good for the unit at home, too? Our version's pretty crowded again."

Peter smirked a little at that, "Nice to see you boys having fun at your usual techie pow-wows."

He added, "Oh yeah? What else was Lenny saying? You got the little guy with you now?" He found himself taking a liking to the imp.

And why did the idea seem so disturbing?

"Good evening, gentlemen."

Ray pulls up short. "Oh, hey, speak of the devil. Hi, Egon."

"What did I do all of once?"
no subject
"Yeah, something about you doing magic or something like it recently?"
no subject
He starts to get to his feet. "Unless you have someone on duty?"

"Taking care of Daniel takes precedence. I'm going to head right back up, so you can take care of your business, Ray."

"Well, I remember hearing about how you inherited a dragon and stuff, so think this relates? Or it's the usual Milliways weirdness quotient acting up again?"
no subject
"My current working hypothesis is that whatever set Daniel off is of a nature that the best way to deal with it requires us. So I was brought here. I'm thinking of doing a thaumic survey of the Bar, charting its 'hot spots'. And yes, an ancestor of mine did somehow tame a dragon; this may in some way be related. Still, it hasn't ever happened back home, which is why I lean more towards the location."

He added to Egon, "Yeah, the place is kooky and creepy at times, too. Figures there'd be something more to it."

"At any rate, it appears that I managed to utilize some of the local PKE to add another level of warding on Daniel's containment. I've also been reading through this." He gestures at the book. "The Lesser Key of Solomon. I asked the Bar if it could lend me a book that would help me with things related to spirits that was not Tobin's or Spates, and it gave me this."

He then said, "Ought to talk to Giles sometime, he's from this world, along with a couple other people around here, where they deal with vampires and demons on a regular basis. Apparently for some, it's their destiny or duty."
He added, "Was asking Ray if there was maybe a way to adapt it to the containment grid back home. Like an upgrade. I know ours isn't as fancy as yours."
no subject
Egon nods. "I'd be more than happy to give you copies of my notes for your grid. I'm sure your Egon would have come up with it eventually. I may leave out the plans for the grid ingress suit, though - it was a risky and foolish endevor in the first place."
no subject
He added, "Great, he probably would, but he and Ray at home have never complained about the info I've picked up from here or from you and Ray. And yeah, I'm not even mentioning the suit bit. They get enough ideas like that on their own."
no subject
"If it wasn't such a dire situation, I would never have tried it. I think we can leave that safely out."

Peter eyed him, "Hah-hah... This is the Venkman's who taken himself off the market, remember? The one with a kid on the way?"
"Yeah, because that's always the best time for a crazy plan." But he was grinning as he said this. The man always liked the real nutty ones anyway.
