There's a girl walking by the lake, looking a bit lost.

There's something off about the way she feels, in his mind.

He walks out of the house, curious.

She turns, watching him with fear.

He holds his hands up, placatingly.

"I won't harm you, girl. But what are you?"

She watches him for a moment, taking a shaky breath.

No steam issues from her mouth as she replies, "the mother of god."

Suddenly, the world blurs.
