Upon learning of Blodwen's invitation into the House of Arch, Tom and Gavroche spent most of Wednesday together, applying new protective wards to each and every painting portal in the House of Arch. Gavroche also reminded every painting who Blodwen was, and to absolutely sound the alarm if she tried to enter any of them, even with a resident. It was a vast undertaking, and Tom spent a good part of Thursday with Arithon adding even more protective spells and wards.
His magic was strong. He knew there were others with magic that was stronger, and he hated this fact. The House was protected as well as he could protect it.
Letters were delivered personally to all of the residents. Tom advised that, for the time being, no person not already keyed to the paintings would be allowed in unless approved by Door or himself. This dictate was unprecedented in the history of the House being linked to Milliways, but drastic times called for drastic measures.
By Thursday evening, Tom wanted to hear news of what was happening in the bar, and Ingress asked to join him so meekly that he couldn't resist. She hoped to find Mary. She also wanted to talk to Alanna, if she could.
So it is that Tom and Ingress warily walk in together from the House of Arch, keeping an eye out for Gavroche.
"Now, you stay right by me, Ingress. You can talk to other people, people we both know, but don't go far. I'll keep an eye on you, and if Blodwen appears, you let me know straight away."
"Okay," she said, her eyes wide and watchful.
They walk to the bar together, looking for friends and watching for foes.

A bunny friend.
... Well, to be perfectly accurate, it's a hare. Nevertheless, he is there, and tilting his head at Ingress, nose twitching.

"Bunny! And not a demon one, either! Hi, bunny."

He lopes forward in a friendly sort of way.

"Hi, Bunny. Do you talk?"

Hare, actually.
It gazes at her with twinkling dark eyes.
Not to quibble, of course.

This is accomplished chiefly by a highly displeased wrinkling of its nose.
Whatever one of those may be, I am *assuredly* not it.

And in its place, there appears a young man in decidedly careless clothes, with a decidedly boyish look to him.
He sweeps a bow.
"Puck of the fae, I'm afraid."

"That's a cool spell! I'm Ingress of the House of Arch. Where's the fae?"
no subject
"I'm no mere conjurer, Ingress of the House of Arch," he says, waving a warning finger. His eyes, though, are bright with laughter and a sharp gleam of recognition; he remembers well the Lady Door. "And the Fae, as it happens, are my people."

She makes an "OH!" face.
"I made a poem!"

If he were capable of facepalming, he would be doing it.
Make no mistake.

But of course!
