Magius sits, quietly, in a chair facing the main area, his staff close to hand, one book balanced and open in his hands as he reads it, taking glances around the bar. A small series of other books spills across the table next to him.

"Oh. Pardon me, I thought--."
no subject
"-that I was Giles?"
He smiles.
"It has happenned a few times. Magius the White, Of Krynn, at your service."

Wesley relaxes considerably at that. And perhaps because Magius still seems like a familiar face, he asks,
"If it wouldn't be a trouble--. Would you mind if I sat down for a while? I'm still new here, and trying to make acquaintances."
"I'm Wesley Wyndham-Pryce. I was a once a Watcher, like Giles was."
From the undertone of Wesley's voice, Magius can probably tell that his time as a Watcher is not a happy memory.

He smiles and waves a hand and a chair slides out for Wesley.
"I am a wizard, from a land and a world far away, even from this place. I have known Giles for some small time since he arrived here."
no subject
"I've had some experience visiting different dimensions. Not a terribly pleasant experience I'm afraid. But perhaps you come from a better place."
Wes adds, with a slight smile, "You certainly don't strike me as a demon."

"As far as I can tell the vield of magic hides many universes, slightly different each with it's own laws."
He waves around.
"Here, a section of them meet."

"There is an alarming number of ... phenomena ... to comprehend here. It's a bit overwhelming at times."

He grins.
(ooc: sure. slowtime is fine!)

He pauses.
"I'm sorry. My colleagues and I made redemption our business, helping others to attain it."
"But it may, perhaps, have made me a bit cynical about my own prospects."
no subject
"Here, Redemption is all too possible. You should talk to her soemtime. "
He shakes his ehad.
"Understand, there are more things here than ever dreamt of in any philosophy, and this means that seeing and learning what is here, it requires you to open your mind, even to things that you never wanted to dream possible, and others you have closed your mind to."
no subject
"Forgive me. I suppose you have a point. It's certainly hard to imagine this as anything less than a fresh start."
He smiles. "And one should never argue against keeping an open mind."
"If you'll pardon a change of subject: what is the nature of magic on your world? I wonder how much it might differ from my own."
no subject
"Magic is a force of many kinds on my world. first there is a basic power that infuses the world itself. it is very hard to access and very hard to manage. Most wizards use god ghifted magic, that flows from the moons. The three gods manoifest as moons and shine down radiative magic on the world, which can be used for spells, You gather the magic with your mind, and use words and spell focii to focus it into a spell."
no subject
"And you're able to draw on this god-gifted magic even here in the bar?"
That would be intriguing. Well, intriguing either way, actually.
no subject
He grins.
"Thus any kind of magic works here, as a thread of the universe it works in exists here."
no subject
"I had quite remarkable resources back on my world, back before my ... death. But perhaps I haven't lost those at least."
no subject
"And there is a person you should see, if you wish to continue your studies. A god named Asar-Suti, who has been given charge of a magical lirbary full of magical books. I believe Giles can avow to you about it being there."
no subject
"I'm glad to have met you, Magius. I trust I'll see you again around the bar?"
no subject
"I will be around."

(ooc: thanks for the chat!)
