Chris at a table. She has a large cup of coffee nearby and a red pen in hand, making notes in her notebook.

She wouldn't mind being distracted.

Jack isn't looking enviously at her coffee at all. Particularly as he didn't sleep well the night before and could probably use it.

"Hey, sweetheart. What are you working on?" he says, leaning over her shoulder.

She leans back slightly, just to be closer to him. "Some finishing touches for my paper."

He beds over and kisses her cheek before walking around the table to take a seat. "When do you have to have it done for?"

"It was due after Thanksgiving, so if too much time hasn't passed, it should be on time."

She gives him a searching look. "Are you ok?" You look tired.

He gives her a weak smile. "Didn't sleep well. I didn't wake you?"

"I thought I heard you moving around but I wasn't sure. Something wrong?"

He sighs, rubbing his forehead. "Just...Kim."

Her voice quieter now, she asks, "How is she?"

"She's convinced that she's going to get everyone hurt. That she's going to--" He stops for a moment, unable to say it. "That there's nothing she can do to stop it. And she won't let me, or Chase, or anyone help."

Still calm but worried. Acting surprised by this info would just be obscene. "She should get out of Milliways for a while."

"Yeah, she should." He looks up; she didn't seem all that surprised by what he'd said. "Have you talked to Kim recently?"

Rod is also at a table. Writing on paper. It's less noisy than typing.

Chris looks up at the man, she remembers meeting him a while back. She can't remember his name though. It's a little annoying.

"Good afternoon," he says, briefly looking up from his writing to give her a smile.

Chris smiles politely. "Afternoon, sir." What the hell is your name?

"You look a little confused."

Rod is observant like that.

She glances down and in a sheepish tone admits, "Uh, I'm afraid I've forgotten your name. Sorry."

"Rod. Rod Serling."

"Thank you." Chris takes a sip of her coffee and wonders how she forgot his name. "So how have you been?

"Better since we last met. I've been making myself more visible in the bar."

"Have you met many of the patrons?"

Ex-boyfriends draped over couches can be distracting. He tilts his head back over the arm of the couch and notices her upside-down.

"Hey, Chris," he says, sitting up.

She turns around, smiling slightly. "Hey, Lee. Haven't seen you around much." Mainly cause she hasn't been in the bar much the past week or so.

"Eh, I've been here and there. Have a nice holiday?" He's been in the bar for the majority of the past few weeks, though he's had his own vacation.

"It was," she tries to think of an apt description for everything that had been going on, "busy."
