Two pups inna bar, both alike in dignity, in fair Milliways where we lay our scene.

One rather mystified Capulet sitting at the bar trying to figure out what exactly one does with a milkshake.

One rather mystified Castle sitting a few barstools down trying to figure out whether The Swimming-Pool Library really counts as porn or not.

"...sure," he says distractedly, still looking after Namo. Great. Guilt.

"Look, we--we can do this upstairs. I'm just a little out of it right now."

He hugs his brother tight. "If you'd rather not do it just now, don't worry about it. We understand we got you rather suddenly." He kisses Lee's cheek. "Would you rather just sit and have some tea or dinner with us?"

"No, I want to do it." He sits up straighter. "Honestly. I'm fine now."

He slips into the booth with Lee and pulls his brother onto his lap.

"It's what we have to mark each other," he says quietly, resting a cheek against Lee's back, between his shoulderblades. "You are ours, and we are yours, to whatever extent that means. It is a mark of loyalty between us, of love. We want you to be ours equally. As I to Namo, so you should be, and as he is to me, so should you. Not the same KIND of love, really. You're my brother. But the amount of it... I could never weigh you against him. I could never choose one over the other. So should it be, and this is how we want to show you."

He feels a bit odd being in Gorlim's lap, and so slides off and wraps his arm around his brother's waist. But he understands the significance now.

"I wasn't trying to blow it off," he says quietly. "I get it now."

Námo slides on top of the table, crossing his legs as he sits in front of them on the surface. He places the cloth Bar had given him to the side, opening it to reveal a mithril hoop identical to the one they wore, a long, thick-looking needle, cotton balls, and a small bottle of antisceptic.

He smiles at them.

"Have you chosen an ear?"

"Ah--" He hasn't thought about it. "Left," he says impulsively, and smiles up at Namo.

Gorlim kisses Lee's cheek.

"Will you do it, Namo, or I?"

He looks down at Lee.

"Do you have a preference? Gorlim could happily spear your ear while I slip the ring through. He seemed to take immense pleasure in doing so to mine, after all," he teases lightly.

He eyes Namo's ears with a slightly raised eyebrow. He has wondered about this on occasion. "Wouldn't that have hurt like hell, though? Since your ears are so sensitive?" He reaches out a hand as if to stroke one, but draws it back.

"Whichever of you feels like spearing me can do it," he says, with a hint of a smirk.

He dips the needle into the antiseptic before handing it to Gorlim.

"I spear you often enough, I think," he teases. "As for my ears? No, it did not hurt. Quite the opposite." His eyes move toward Gorlim's in a shared memory.

Gorlim GRINS. "He enjoyed it," he tells Lee. "QUITE intensely."

He pinches Lee's ear, meets Namo's eyes as a cue to ready the earring, and without warning, puts the needle through.

Poor Lee has no time to reach before fingers cool from the antiseptic on the ring touch the pierced ear, threading the ring through and clasping it quickly. Them a damp cotton ball is pressed to it.

Before anyone could really notice, the deed it done.

"Ours," he whispers to Lee before bending to kiss him.

He doesn't notice the stinging of his ear, distracted as he is by the kiss.

He knows they're in the bar, and that perhaps it would have been better if they'd gone upstairs first, but that look between Namo and Gorlim...it's really left him no choice. He reaches up to toy with the ring through Namo's ear, pulling away from the kiss.

The Vala gasps and trembles on the table, instantly aroused.

"He is evil, titta aiwë," he pants quietly. "Pure evil."

Gorlim laughs.

"Do that again, brother, and we'll see what happens."

His hands dart forward and grab Namo's wrists, holding tightly.

He likes this game.

"The mithril suits you," he adds, and noses Lee's jaw.

"You cannot mean for him to do that," Námo hisses with a laugh. "It does not take much!"

He kisses Gorlim's cheek and--reluctantly--lowers his hand.

"If I'm going to get thrown in the cells for anything, I'd rather it not be for public indecency," he explains, still amused. His eyes flick back to Namo, heatedly, for just a second, and he examines the ring in Gorlim's ear, which is rather safer to do.

He relaxes some in Gorlim's grip.

"I cannot tell you how often Gorlim plays this game. It can be... an sore endeavour."

"Oh, but it is SUCH fun!"

He laughs at the touch to his own ear, and wiggles it cleverly.

Talented, isn't he?

"Would you like me to -- leave you two to it?" he asks cautiously.

Námo looks at Gorlim quizzically.

"'To it'?" he asks, confused.

"I presume," he says hesitantly, "you'll both want to lug each other upstairs."

It hadn't worked really the one time they'd tried including him.

Lee hadn't been planning to go upstairs at all until quite recently. He glances at Gorlim, looking pained.

"Gorlim--you have got to stop doing that."

Námo returns his hands to his lap, looking down at the tabletop in a wash of shame.

Gorlim... facepalms.

"Damn. I'm sorry. Christ, will one of you just slap me when I start that crap?"
