Mal is back for his second straight appearance, but this time with a purpose - he's going out to the stables. He hasn't checked on Tequila in longer than he would like. This is why he's picking up a thermos of cocoa before he goes out in the cold.

He's got a smile on his face though, so if you catch him he'll be in a good mood.

[OOC: will be slow for a bit, but am also working on slowtimes from last night.]

"The pleasure is mine -- wŏ xiăng huān nĭ." She grins.

As to knowing Inara... The Endless's reply is utterly innocent. (Or as innocent as you'd expect from Desire, at any rate.) "We've never met in person; I'm familiar with her work. She's nán wàng de, Captain, and you're a very lucky man."

Familiar with her work. Duh, Malcolm.

"Yes, she is, and yes I am. I'd pass on the compliment to her with your allowance of it."

"I'm not heartless, Captain. I would no sooner ask you to keep compliments from your piào liàng de qī zi than ask you to lie to her." Desire's grin relaxes into a wry smile. "Although I wish I could say how it would be recieved -- but that's the Eldest brother's realm."

"I believe you have met some of my family before."

Mal twitches a smile that holds far less positive emotion than it should.

"That I have. Quite an interestin' bunch, I'm seein', though I've only met Morpheus and Death."

"Death's a xin gan, so long as you don't cross her." (Which Desire has, on occaision, but that's nothing to bring up here.) "Morpheus and I -- Well, let's say that my gē ge and I weren't getting along for a very long time, and only patched it up last year."

She offers Mal a perfectly wicked grin. "I aim to misbehave. He didn't care for that very much at the time."

Lady, you're my kind o' stupid.

Mal grins a little more naturally at this. However, "Dream did help out me and mine when things got a bit tetchy, so I can't complain entirely."

A beat, then Mal clearing his throat. "Don't want to keep you from...whatever it what you were up to, ma'am."

Desire winks: She won't tell if Mal doesn't.

"That's kind of you, Captain -- xièxie nĭ. Actually, I was just dropping by to see old friends and happened to see you. I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting you before, so -- bă wò jīyù." With that same smile, Desire dips her head and acknowledges that Mal probably has Things To Do, lightly waving a hand as she turns toward the bar. "Forgive the interruption."

Mal keeps a rather wide-eyed stare as Desire moves on, remembering to at least not let his jaw drop as she passes.

"Sure...no problem."
