OOM: Directly after this happens.

Sara is back at the bar. At the moment, she wants nothing more than to find oblivion at the bottom of a bottle.

Instead, she curls up on a couch near the fireplace, wrapped in a blanket. Despite the heat, she feels cold.

Maybe Ace should meet Sara's friend Nick. He apparently has a thing for pyromaniacs.

"Fun...sure, at times. It's a desert region, so obviously there's not much water around. When it does rain, some guys decide it's a brilliant idea to try to surf in the storm drains. Without helmets." Despite herself, Sara giggles. It feels strange.

"Cor, and here I thought I was nutters..." Even without really knowing what storm drains are, Ace can suss out that surfing them, in any conditions, probably isn't a good idea.

~~Meanwhile, mun cracks up at the thought of an Ace/Nick. And then screams in terror at the thought.~~

"So where are you from?"

"Errr..." Someday, she's going to sit down and write out an answer for this one. She hates the hard questions.
"Recently, or originally?" She stalls.

Sara raises an eyebrow. "If you'd rather not answer, or you aren't really able to answer, that's fine."

"No... it really depends, y'see. Where I was most recently does not translate into where I was last. I time-travel...led." The past-tense comes awkwardly. She's not quite gotten around to accepting it yet.

"Oh, okay. I can see how that would create confusion. Forget I asked, then."

"No nono, you should have some marker at least..." she muses. "Perivale. It's in that bit of the middle of nowhere that happens to be in England. Haven't been there for ages..." that might be literally true. "But it's where I came from, anyway."

She nods thoughtfully. "That's a start, anyway." She grins a bit. "But I'll give you a break-as I said, time travel is bound to create confusion."

"You don't know the half of it." She mutters. "Don't know as I can tell you the latest one anyway. It was... an emergency landing." She abruptly shuts up, and drinks her cocoa. Mmm, chocolate. Good for what ails ya.

Point taken. Sara drinks her own chocolate and lets the subject slide.

Ace flails about for a new topic of conversation.
"So... meet anyone interesting?" Oldest trick in the dang book, but around here it works pretty well most of the time.

~~Mun snickers~~

"Um...well, I hooked up with a transvestite the other night..that was interesting. I've also met Mike, the Mutant Turtle. I'm friends with one of the Slayers, several super heroes, and I've been introduced to a demon and a faery. I think that's about it." She grins.

"Huh, haven't met any demons yet..." Ace muses. Of course, she doesn't think she's met any angels either. Little does she know...
"Mike? Big, green, naked? Take it from me, don't mention the naked." Ace nods sagely.

"I've seen worse, trust me," Sara grins.

"It's not the seeing. It's the declaring." Ace nods again. "But you have my condolences anyway."

She laughs. "Thanks, I think. But I'll take your warning and not mention anything to him. He seems like a nice enough guy, though."

"He is. He's a sweetheart, really, even if he insists on the no-clothes thing." She grins, and sips her cocoa.

"Makes a nice cup of cocoa, at any rate."

"You mean he beat me to it? Sneaky turtle." She laughs, completely missing the 'ninja' bit of Mike's title.

"All I know is I was curled up on the couch and the chocolate appeared right by me." She shrugs with a laugh. "He's done a pretty good job of cheering me up though."
