Sara is back at the bar. At the moment, she wants nothing more than to find oblivion at the bottom of a bottle.

Instead, she curls up on a couch near the fireplace, wrapped in a blanket. Despite the heat, she feels cold.

"It's figurative speech. Though if you take it as a suggestion, you might become acquainted with the floor." She grins.

"Oooh, saucy. You're a civillian, I wouldn't hurt you. Unless you wanted me to."

And with a very sudden shift, he's back to tourguide.

"There's a lake outback that-a-ways. And there are guest quarters up those stairs. I share an apartment with Indy, when I'm not at home."

She raises a challenging eyebrow. "I took great pleasure in dislocating both of a guy's arms once--he was beating his girlfriend and I happened to be passing by--and he wasn't much smaller than you."

"Might have to go look at the lake. Indy? Your significant other or just flatmate?"

"Raph did something like that once, when we were on patrol. I should warn you...I'm a ninja. These hands are certified lethal weapons."

"Significant other? Indy? Oh HELL's no. He's just your average tomb raider...I mean Archeologist and my roommate.

"I'm frightened, can't you tell?" Her tone is very dry.

She laughs at the indignation in his voice. "Sorry! I've just learned not to assume anything when it comes to people. Archeologist? Sounds interesting. He'd better hope he doesn't stumble on any cursed sites."

He smiles broadly. Worst. Ninja. Ever.

"Not this guy, he's got the frickin' luck of ages. Wait, you said you're after me, right? Then you must have heard of Indiana Jones..."

"Indiana Jones! Shit! Yeah, I've heard of him." And crushed on him along with half the women my age.

"Must be a trip living with him," she says, grinning back.

"He keeps bringing rocks home. It's the wierdest thing."

Then he leans in with a conspiratorial whisper.

"And he's addicted to daytime tv."

"I think that goes with the territory."

"Soap operas?"

Mike nods very slowly.

"All of them. I think we're talking intervention material here."

"Wow. This sounds serious. The last time I watched one...I was twelve. Young enough to make such foolish mistakes." She shakes her head sadly.

"I think Indy needs to be introduced to...quality television. Like Law & Order. Or South Park."

"Law & Order I know, what's South Park?"

"Uh...a cartoon they show on ComedyCentral, featuring badly drawn kids who are the most twisted, perverted, foul-mouthed little brats that ever graced TV. And some days, you simply need to see something like that."

"What's this I've been hearing about a party?" She grins. "Holding out on me?"

"Somedays? I think I need to see this everyday!"

He looks shocked and blushes just a touch. It's funny to see something green blush.

"I wasn't...I didn't mean to. I just figured, the way you were just kind of sitting over here, maybe inviting you to a party wasn't what you needed. In hindsight, I kinda see how that was really freaking stupid of me.

Wanna go?"

"I can burn some of the DVDs for you next time I go home," She offers.

"And hey, I was just teasing. At time time you came to say hello, well, yeah, a party wasn't on my mind." She smiles apologetically. "So what's this one about?"

"I really like DVDs. It'll be years before we get one back at the lair. I mean, I could sneak out out to Donnie, but with my luck that'll ruin something in some future timeline and then the world will go pop or something. Death would kick my ass. We can't have that.

About? It's just sort of a housewarming thing, I guess. Only we're trying to be fancy. I've been encouraging the women to dress slinky because I'm shameless. Consider this your warning."

"Yeah, I wouldn't cross Death. She's...Death after all. And don't worry-you're no worse than Greg can be."

"Slinky huh? Would this dress meet the criteria?" She asks teasingly.

ooc: Pretend Sara produced a picture.

"Even with my IN, I'm pretty sure I'd still be screwed...."

The sentence dies when he sees the picture. Looking from the picture to her, and back again, Mike smiles.

"Hells yeah!"

She grins. "As long as I don't have to wear high heels, I'd be glad to attend your party. When will it be happening?"

She is very gratified by his reaction.

"The dress is long enough that you can just tell people you're wearing heels. No one will know. Besides, I'll be the shortest one there, so you can take some comfort in that.

The whole shebang will be Sunday. It's going to be awesome. Social event of the season."

"I'll even leave the pepper spray at home, for once," she says, genuinely looking forward to it.

"Who else will be there? Or will people just randomly pop by?"

"Well me and Indy, of course. I'm assuming Lorelai will be there. That's Indy's lady friend. Raph and Death. They're sort of ... joined at the hip these days. Remus Lupin, The Flash, Mel, Bernard and Tonks, Tom and Door, Andrew and Meg...Um...Indy's got the master list. I'm just in charge of food.

Suggestions?"

"Mmm..nothing too greasy, especially if there is alcohol. No need for people getting sick. Fruit and vegetables as finger food. Are you going to do a buffet or will food be brought to each guest individually?"

"Buffet, totally. Mostly finger foods I'm thinking. That way people can mingle and aren't strapped to tables, that might not fit in the place anyway.

I make killer mushroom puffs. Maybe some sweet and sour duck. Hmmmm."
