He sighs. "I know."

"How long do you have to keep the cast on?"

"Couple of weeks, tops."

"Good. I can sign it if you want."

"Got a pen?"

"A good CSI is never without a pen," she says haughtily, pulling out a Sharpie.

"Just don't write anything obscene or suggestive."

"Oh ye of little faith..." she bends over his leg, pen poised.

She writes with a flourish and a smirk, Man VS. Gravity-->Gravity Won, and initials next to it.

"Gee, thanks, Sara," he says sarcastically. But in good nature.

"You're welcome."

"So...you feeling any better?"

[lvpd_sidle]

She nods. "Yeah--had my ribs healed by one of the wizards. Can't even tell that they were broken. And I slept without nightmares." The funeral had also been cathartic in many ways.

He smiles. "That's great."

"Life goes on, whether we like it or not. And I have the feeling Tim would kick our asses if we stayed morose for very long."

"Sounds like you had a good leader."

"He was. I wish I had known him better."

"Didn't know him well at all, myself. Only spoke to him a couple of times for security."

"I knew him more through Ace--she's become one of my closest friends here. And he made her very happy."
