Using her mad CSI observation skillz, Sara has deduced that something is Very Wrong today in the bar. Whatever is Very Wrong probably has nothing to do with her, but she's curious.

Especially since she ordered a salad ten minutes ago and it still hasn't materialized.

Someone want to enlighten her?

Tony is ignorant of the events as well, which is why he is waiting for some picnic food to materialize at the bar. Michelle hasn’t come down yet, so he’ll wait. He gives a little nod to Sara.

She nods back. She's feeling friendly for the moment.

"Do you know what's up with the bar?" Said picnic food has yet to appear.

"Uh uh. Strange--it gave me breakfast promptly. I wonder if something's going on with the head bar guy, what's-his-name."

She isn't being funny-she hasn't met Bernard yet.

He tilts his head. "Bernard? You haven't met him yet?"

"Bernard...no, I don't believe I have. I do know that he and the Bar are connected in some way. If something's wrong, the bar might be being affected by that." She shrugs.

Tony frowns a little. He's not close to Bernard, so he's not sure he can extract any information about what was bothering him. "You're probably right," he says.

"Not to mention the atmosphere in here wouldn't be amiss at a mass funeral. Something's...off."

He nods. "Yeah, well, whatever it is I hope it's not too bad, you know? Like a death or something."

"Yeah. I think we've all had enough of that lately."

"But people don't stop dying..." He sighs and looks at his hands.

"Life is a near death experience. Until it's fulfilled."

[ooc: Off to class--slowtime?]

He continues to look at his hands, until a basket full of picnic food materializes before him. He prevents himself from making a sarcastic quip.

Barry comes over. He hasn't noticed anything being amiss ~~and his mun is not in a doomy mood~~.

"Hey. You see the note about Suti's party?" He gives her a kiss and hug.

"I did--want to go?" She snickers. "'Cause I have to see Grissom in a kilt."

Her salad finally appears.

He smirks. "Grissom in a kilt? Well, that can't be any odder than me in a kilt. Can it?

"I'm up for going to Suti's party for a while. There should be some people there I know, and a couple I need to meet. But the bigger party?" He grins a little shyly.

"You know what I'm like, and what big parties here are like. So you can probably guess that I might not want to take that route."

"He asked me to get it for him. This is from a man who wears a tie only to court." She giggles again.

She nods, leaning against him contentedly. "Same here, I think. I read a little on solstice rituals and I'd rather not participate in the racier ones."

"Do I want to know why Grissom wanted a kilt then? Or should I just asume that's one of the racier rituals and not press on any further?" He isn't uncomfortable with this line of discussion, though. He might finally be relaxing.

"I'm more concerned that Suti checked with Gil - his Gil, I mean, not Grissom - before planning this. With Gil stuck as a faun, he might not be in a party mood. And as much as Suti cares for him, he's still Suti and can be a little overbearing."

"Apparently Green Jack has requested that the men attending the Solstice party wear kilts. But he won't set a dress code for the women as he deduced such restrictions annoy us." She's far more amused than she probably needs to be.

"Hmmm.." she thinks for a minute. "They had been planning on a housewarming party for some time. I think the celebration of Gil's birthday is giving Sooty the opportunity he wanted. I think it'll be all right."

"I don't think I know Green Jack. But I think he gets points for not overdoing the dress code. if nothing else, he's going to get more credit than Mikey did." He smirks.

"Er, you don't think I need to wear a kilt to the other party, do you? Not that I mind." Much.

"I wonder what kind of furnishings a god has. I assume it's mainly in the style of the wall hanging he got me.

"Think we should get a gift? And what kind? Birthday or housewarming?"

"You probably don't need to," she laughs. "Sooty and Gil won't care one way or the other."

"I know they have a couch--a massive one, if Sooty's descriptions are anything to go by. He did say that Gil is always looking for new recipes, so I was thinking of getting some cookbooks for him."

"Well, then I'll stick with slacks." Which brings him a mild sense of relief.

"Cookbooks are a good notion." A new thought or two pass thorugh his mind.

"Oh, before I forget, Tim posted a note about security staff. A certain CSi still hasn't talked to him.

"And apparenlt Ace is fine again." His smile brightens a bit.

"I'd talk to him if he'd stay still for more than two minutes at a time," she comments mulishly. "I'll leave a note for him and see if he'll get back to me."

"Oh, that's great to hear. What happened?"

"Tim's note didn't say. Inf act, it was fairly terse. Knowing Tim, he had a huge battle with no lasting effects other than a fixed Ace, and he most likely wasn't in a mood to elaborate." He thinks about the note, and the response from Bigby.

"I would suggest you leave a note. Bigby's reply to Tim's note was that I should consider talking to a couple of people named Nick and Angel. Apparently, they're detectives, and i think that maybe Bigby is implying I move to hire them and fill out the ranks. While maybe working with trained PIs would be good, I'd rather work with people I know." And yes, he has other reasons for wanting to work with Sara, but the tone in Barry's voice mainly suggests his thoughts are quite professional in this regard as well.

"And I need to remind Ray to talk to Tim, as well. Ray accepted my offer."

"I'll ask Ace next time I see her. And I will leave a note though given the speed at which the Bar is working today, it might be a while before Tim sees it." She frowns. "Did something happen?"

[ooc: Need to leave in 5 min or so.]

He thinks for a moment. He notices the strange color of Bar's wood.

"I have no idea. But Wesley Dodds - the man from my world's past I met? - he seemed to think something was quite off here. At first, I figured he's just not used to the place yet. But I wonder..."

[ooc: okay. may or may not be busy with work when you get back.]

"If it's not one thing, it's another." She sighs.

[ooc: Gonna go ahead and bring Grissom in. Have a nice afternoon. :)]
