Sara is seated at a table, looking rested and relatively relaxed. She's glancing over some cold cases that Catherine had thoughtfully brought her.

Feel free to bother.

Barry is back in the rafters. And this time, he thinks he will surprise Sara.

"Hello down there!"

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oops. Didn't mean to startle you." Much.

"Well, from where I sit the view is very, very nice," he says as looks right at her.

"But for the most part, it's just the Bar. Shall I climb down?"

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
He carefully stands up on the beam, and walks towards a table not too far below a low-hanging rafter. Taking his time for once, he makes it back without falling.

He jumps on the table, landing a little awkwardly, and then jumps to the floor.

"Ta-da!"

He heads over to her and gives her a hug and kiss.

[ooc: work beckons - back soon, I hope]

"What can I say? I'm a speedster, not a gymnast." He sits.

"What's up, darling?"

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"I still haven't met Connor. Unless they're identical, and Connor was pretending to be Murphy." He smirks.

"AS you see, I found my way into the rafters. Figured I should know the way there, in case another case takes me there. And also so I can talk to Stephanie."

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Veritas. 'Truth' in Latin, right? Would I be right in guessing that I missed a similar tattoo on Murphy's hand, with a Latin word for 'justice?'" He looks up again for a moment.

"She likes it up there. Says it's the natural habitat for members of Batman's circle. Which is precisely why I wanted to get up there. She's more herself. Almost relaxed.

"Oh. I have to tell you this. She's been watching a dog for one of Bart's teammates. Superboy. The dog is apparently from Krypton. He practically tackled me!"

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Barry has distinct Huh-face. "You know Krypto. From the cartoons.

"I know this shouldn't surprise me anymore, but...they made a cartoon. About a dog. From Krypton.

"Please tell me that at some point, there was a cartoon with me. I couldn't deal with the embarrassment of being beaten into the cartoon by a dog." And he slowly begins to smile, though he is still quite surprised.

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
He grins slyly at her. She's not getting off the hook just yet.

"OK. Let's assume that your world has no sense of taste of priority, and that there really is cartoon about Krypto, but not one about the fastest man alive.

"What did the show say about the dog? Stephanie had no idea if he was really from Krypton."

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"More marketable? Well, I admit that Krypto is cute. And I suppose that a dog with a cape is probably likely to get a sizeable amount of merchandise sales..." He gets up and races off, and returns with a Flash t-shirt.

"...But wouldn't every kid on the block want to wear this? A fine logo, indicative of the grace and speed that goes with the Flash name!"

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know I'm right. I bet that if there were a t-shirt salesman right here, in the Bar, you'd buy one. Everyone would. Mike and Mel, Indy and Delia, all the Titans, even the fairy court itself. It would be the..." He starts to crack up...

"...fashion statement of the season. Then Hollywood..." More gales of laughter...

"...would make the cartoon I deserve." And now he dorps to the floor in front of Sara's feet, in complete silly hysterics.

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
He gets up and sits down next to his beloved.

"So I didn't convince you, did I? Well, it's not like every had to market these," he says, pointing at the shirt.

"They really were popular back home. All proceeds to the Central City Police Athletic League."

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
He smiles like a schoolboy with a deep crush. And tries very hard not to. He doesn't succeed.

"Thanks." He grabs her and gives her a big kiss.

"I'm not jealous of Krypto. Really.

"Well, maybe a little.

"But even a supposedly modest hero does wonder sometimes what kind of legacy he can leave, even on the worlds where he was never real."

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
He blushes. No need to deny being modest, that's for sure.

"I know. About both parts, I mean.

"Though my legacy is always the most Flash-y." He smirks.

"Funny, though. On my world, Superman started his career maybe eight months before I did. We had plenty of heroes who fought in the war - Jay Garrick chief among them - but certianly not Supes. Makes me think that there is a world where Superman really did fight and win World War II.

"And even a world where that goofy Batman TV you and Ray talk about was real.

"Which would probably kill everyone who ever met him."

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, from what I heard, everything about that world was goofy. So presumably, the average person was simply part of the situation.

"Which is very unnerving. But may also be why no one from them comes through the door.

"Yet." He smiles, and then pauses.

"Tell me - you ever think about the nature of the Landlord?"

[ooc: Meeting about to start - back soon, again.}

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"You're probably better off, then. But I got to thinking about how there are so many people here from Earth, or a variant thereof, and how most are from the same basic time period.

"So I found myself wondering if maybe he or she or it is from a specific Earth of the late 20th or early 21st century.

"Which is the kind of thinking hat might get me in trouble." He smirks again.

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
He laughs, even though he's heard this one many times before.

"Then since I wish to remain good today, I'd better stop studying. Or thinking."

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)

"Certainly there are moments of, shall we say, passion when thinking is of limited use.

He kisses her, for good measure.

"But when I get into the moment as the Flash, thinking also gets in the way. Not that I stop entirely - it's good to know where I am to some degree - but the speed can really carry me into a space where thought is irrelevant.

"Makes a nice contrast to our work."

[identity profile] silverageflash.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes. Yes it is." And he kisses her again.

{ooc: Have a good weekend!]
