She isn't a member of security but she is someone that isn't happy to see him with a black eye.

Rushing to him, "Abs what happened?"

Abs scowls.

"My punishment for mislaying Guppy for a while yesterday. Don't worry he turned up."

He looks up at her and the scowl fades. He shoves out a barstool for her and orders some tea.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Amanda studies his face for a moment, "Who?" no Amanda wouldn't have gotten mad and isn't mad at Abs for having temporarily misplaced Guppy. He is doing the best he can and more then others. Of course Amanda has her suspicions, probably wrong.

Amnda smiles ruefully, "Everyone seems to have a breaking point. Even me."

Abs hugs her gently.

"Well Guppy won't let me near him at the moment because he overheard me telling Aeryn I was prepared to section him if he was still refusing fluids the next morning. But he appears to be improving. At very least he's talking. Don't worry, he's among friends here and whatever else is bothering you don't get too upset over him, okay? He's stronger than he thinks he is and he's over the worst of it."

Of course she knows that he is stronger then he seems but she will of course also worry about him.

She returns the hug. "I know. He just deserves so much better. And so do you."

"Now Abs who hit you?" because no she isn't going to let it go.

"Amanda it's years since I got out of Guppy's situation. I was thirteen when I was like that. I'd never have been employable in a hospital if I hadn't had a long term clean bill of psychiatric health. It's a horrible thing to say, but his father's death is the only thing that will let him get better. We should be thankful that he didn't actually kill the man."

He sips his tea and pours one for her.

Her tone and facial expression go very serious, "Abs, I know. Now stop avoiding the question, who hit you?"

she takes the tea and sips it trying to calm herself. So many emotions in such large quantities can be very draining.

"What difference does it make? Security will kick their ass when I find someone anyway."

"It makes a difference because I want to know. I haoppen to care who is hitting my friends." no she wont do anything rash. Honestly she would rather avoi fights but she feels a deep need to know.

Abs smiles. "Amanda please don't worry. You look all worried out as it is. You're as bad as Guppy. I'm a big boy and I can fight my own battles. You look as if you need to spend a little more time worrying about yourself."

His voice is kind but firm.

Amanda laughs, "And here I've been trying to work on worrying about others for once. Guess it worked better then I had expected. And i know you can fight your own battles. I'm not trying to suggest that you can't. I just want to know." Yes the more he refuses to tell her the less likely she is to drop it. She is like a cat with yarn. Only more stubborn.

"And I, my dear Amanda, do not want to tell you. Because you will worry, and probably seek this person out and have a go at them."

The battle of the stubborn ones commences.

Yes. Suppose this isn't going to go anywhere good.

"I wont worry but it will keep me up if I don't know who it was. And I wont go have it out with anyone. Being Bound is bad enough." what she leaves off is that being confined to the cells would be unbearable, because he already knows.

"Why will it keep you up? I'm in no danger Amanda. It was a one off."

He sips his tea. "I am not a popular man around here Amanda. But you know as well as I do that I don't plan to stay here long term. There is no sense in you falling out with someone on my part."

She shakes her head, "I'll lose sleep over it because I will be trying to rack my brain over who it was and start suspecting people. My curious nature and all."

Abs sighs.

"Okay, you tell me who you suspect and I'll answer yes or no. If you can't guess you can't brood. Deal?"

Sneaky. However there are only so many people that she knows know Abs and Guppy, "Aeryn?" which is her first guess. Having no idea about her shrunken perdicament.

"Nope. She was shrunk."

"Shrunk?" Amanda shakes her head figuring that she probably doesn't want to know more, "Hmm, Lee?" because she knows that Sooty and Hank wouldn't hit Abs.

"Who's Lee? No."

"Guess he only knows Guppy." hey she doesn't know exactly who they both know, "Ramon?" she doesn't know if he is out of the cells yet.

"Nope. Don't know him either."

[OOC: kick LJ for eating post]

"Hmm." the list is getting smaller. Abs knows fewer people then Guppy, "Was it Gorlim?" she asks almost hopefully, because at this point the deal is looking really stinky. Her curiosity is on;y growing.

"Yes."

Amanda sits back in her chair and gives a sigh of relief. Because this really would have bothered her. Though good job Abs. She is so relieved that she finally knows that she has forgotten to be angry.

"Well done. Biscuit?"

"Sure." she says with a laugh, "Hank has ordered me to eat and drink so why not a bisciut?"

"Ah, well if it's doctor's orders..."

He asks the bar for two ice creams and passes one to her. Dime bar crunch flavour with a flake and choccie sprinkles. And a strawberry.

Amanda takes it with a smile, "Thank you." she does love her strawberry's

Abs grins.

"A bar with all the food in the universe, and still half the residents are malnourished."

"Yes well there really isn't much she can do about catatonic states is there. That's what friends are for, right?" she grins.

"Right. And I can see that someone is in need of a bit of TLC. So..."

He gets up and goes over to the karaoke machine.

"I think it's time for a bit of a distraction."

He flicks through the choices and grins.

Oh no, Karaoke. Amanda is blissgully unaware of anything that has happened with reguards to the Karaoke machine which may explain the grin that has just crossed her face.

He's quite tuneful really. He grins, flicks back his hair and presses a button.

Amanda is smiling in pure delight as her brain starts flipping through it's archives to figure out what song to sing in response.
