Hank is once more at the Table outside the Infirmary, working on his laptop. Next to him, his beeper linked to the Infirmary monitors hums quietly.

He has had a lot going on lately, and in addition ot everything else, is watching the bar for several people.

It's a Catherine.

And she comes up and kisses him, without a word.

And then she's flopping into the seat, her eyes back to that bright, hectic sparkle. ""

He starts at the kiss, then grins, then when he hears her words and sees her eyes he sighs and squeezes his eyes shut. When he opens them he smiles.

"A long day, Catherine?"

He gently runs a hand across her neck.

"." She groans, shuffles her heels. "What about you?"

He smiles softly, and Bar or no bar, he gently removes her shoes and begins to gently massage certain points on the sole of her feet.

"The usual day in the Inrfirmary, mostly working. I missed you. But I am glad you are happy."

There is perhaps a wistful tone in his voice, for he misses the her that is his truly, and wishes that whatever this is, it would end. But he smiles anyway, his eyes full of love, and his hands dont stop working.

"Mmmmmm..." Catherine sighs softly, happily, leaning back. She really has danced all day, and--previous practice or not--it still really bloody hurts in heels. Take it from the mun. ""

She cocks her head, looking at him. "how is everybody...?"

(ooc: It's cool. Hank ios worried but he has talked to a few others and doesnt think she is in too much danger so hne is mostly just being cool with it. Magius is a little flipped out, but he will come down and slowly get strasightened out. it will just take a little while. Right now he is kinda out there, a little manically cooky, but he will be fine.)

HHe smiles softly at her as he works, knowing the exact right spot to hit with his hands after years of training.

"As well as can be expected. Things are up in the air right now. Rachel is still hurt. Another girl, Alessa, is comatose, and a couple friends are having medicial problems, but I am getting a handle on it. The one I am worried about is Magius. Nina vanished."

[ooc: *g* Hey, post an OOM of Magius sleeping in his room, I've got an evol idea ;)]

" Nina..." Catherine struggles with this, trying obviously to clear her head. "I... "

He looks at her sadly for a moment thjen sighs.

"I am okay. And yes I am working too hard and sleeping okay. Sleep better with you. Well, I sleep some of the time, but better."

He grins.

"" There's an even mixture of deeper, real regret and artifical, spelled dismay as she looks at him. ""

He smiles as he finishes with her feet and wipes off his ahdns before putting her feet down on another chair and moving beside her. He kisses her softly.

"I dont know much about thuis life you want and have chosen, but I support you, Catherine, always and forever. Whatever you want to do. I trust you and I will be waiting and keep the ebd warm for you."

His eyes are fiulle diwht love, with the slighterst hint of suggestion. Perhaps if she does make it up early, he might even have a surprise for her.

Catherine touches his hand, her fingers tightening convulsively around his. When she speaks her voice is very quiet, and not at all steady. " I don't understand... I can't "

"Catherine?"

His voice is just a little afraid. he wraps her in his arms.

"Baby? what's wrong?"

He holds her warmly and strongly in his embrace.

She shakes her head, leans her forehead against his chest, stays still for a moment. He can't see her eyes.

Then she looks up at him, that feverish gleam back in her eyes, and something almost terrified behind it. ""

"Catherine... I think you should come upstairs now, with me. I promise it will be okay. Trust me?"

He gently touches her chin and lifts it, looking onto her eyes. He kisses her softly then looks again.

The terrified, vulnerable look is gone--only the bright, soulless, vapid sparkle remains. "" She makes as if to go.

And he pulls another trick out of his bag, and dips her into a long, very long, hot, wet, kiss, his hands gently cupping her as he does so and carressing her back and side as he lifts her back again.

"I love you."

She looks up at him, and the sparkle fades, and there's the real Catherine--just for a moment. "I love you, too."

And then she twirls away, lightly laughing, heading for the bar.

He smiles, then sighs as she goes. But he watches, quietly, as he packs and heads upstairs, hoping she will be there.
