At some point in the past few days, after this meeting obviously, there was a small note pinned to the notice board, it was handwritten, in neat, precise letters, the handwriting of someone more used to numbers.

It went a little something like this:

Free to a good home:
15 Assorted, formerly clockwork, and now somewhat living, critters.
Good for first-time pet owners since they’re low maintenance, don’t eat much, don’t leave a mess and don’t require constant attention.
