true_desire: Eyes-only view of a gold-eyed person, gender indeterminite (Default)

(no subject)

It's not that Desire hasn't been visiting Milliways: Desire has.
As the Endless is so fond of reminding old friends, this is a bar: Desire never really leaves.
But maybe, just maybe, it's the first time in a long while that the Endless has been spotted moving through the crowd, reclaiming the usual booth.
Desire smirks, sets the cigarette in hand into the blue ashtray on the table and proceeds to get comfortable, shoes propped up on the bench across the way.

So.
How long has it been since you've seen Desire?

[ OOC: Pretty please! I'm attempting to get back in the swing. Ping me at milliwaysdesire before pouncing me, so I know what to expect? Thanks! - Bansh ]

Desire grins.

Oh, Saionji, if you only knew.

"World's End and his games are not my concern, Saionji: His promises are nothing. I became involved to protect someone I love."

Everyone thinks they've got a good reason.

"Good luck, then," he says dryly. "It's really not any of my business any longer."

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Desire eyes Saionji.
"I'm no longer trying to win Anthy, if that's what you think of me. There's only one person that could convince me to step in again."

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Anthy isn't the Rose Bride any longer, anyway, I'm told," he mutters. "At least according to--" (an ignorant peasant) "--some."

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah. Well, it's true." Desire looks away, giving Saionji a break from that yellow gaze.

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
He looks away too, towards the floor. "That's what I'm told," he repeats. "I don't understand how that could happen."

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
"You left it behind, didn't you?" Desire's tone borders on serene. "Is it really so hard to believe she could, too?"

Desire's eyes glitter green again.

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I was a duellist," he says. "She's the prize." Verb tenses get slippery, here. "It's different."

"She never seemed to object, before."

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Desire smirks faintly -- Mostly, it's just enough to bring up the corners of her mouth.
"Perhaps it's just that she never realized she had a choice, Saionji. You know she's never been very good at accepting mere words."

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You seem to know a lot about her," Saionji says warily. "Have you been the Engaged?"

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
"I have."
And she has some idea how Saionji feels.

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Did you defeat Tenjou? Or take her from someone else?"

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Someone else -- I've never had to fight Tenjou." Desire considers, blinking. "I don't think I've ever seen her fight, now that you mention it."

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
"She's surprising," Saionji says dryly. "Untrained, but capable of...inspired moments."

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
"It doesn't matter," Desire says after a moment's consideration. "Without the Bride, there's no sword of Dios to win -- and no real point, is there. Wouldn't you say?"

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
"The Sword of--" Saionji's head hurts, suddenly.

(grant me the power)

"No point. Yes." He looks up, a curiously cloudy look in his eye. "But she's still the Rose Bride, in my time. All this is still ahead of her."

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Desire watches him levelly.
"She's only yours if you can win her back, Saionji."

[identity profile] saionjisenpai.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't--"

Yes, he does.

"I won't be a pawn of Ends of the World any longer," he says, determinedly. "I'm finished with the duels. Even if it means I've lost Anthy forever."

Even if it means I never find something eternal?

[identity profile] true-desire.livejournal.com 2006-01-18 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
And little as Saionji knows, even right now he's close to something... Endless.

Desire nods. She knows how much Saionji wants Anthy for his own, and idly wonders to herself if he'll be able to keep that vow.
Time will tell, and Desire has nothing but patience.

"Kyouichi Saionji." She bows again, watching hum curiously. "I fear I am becoming out of practice. Would you do me the honor of a practice match? -- At your convenience, of course."
