(no subject)

There is a Chase, in the bar, with a book that he is only pretending to read.

It's difficult to pay full attention to a book when one is keeping a wary eye and a half out for certain daughters and certain fathers-in-law-to-be that one has to make certain apologies to or risk certain...something.

If your name just happens to be Angela or Jack, you might want to just happen to stop by the booth.

And if your name isn't, you're certainly perfectly welcome to stop by anyway.

"I just...I have things to do out there. Though I'd love to stay. It's nice not to have to deal with school or anything else."

She smiles slightly. "I hope I can always come back here, though. I hope that I never have to leave permanently."

"I'd miss you too."

It was nice meeting her Dad and Mom as younger people. It's helped her understand them a little.

"But I'm not going anytime real soon, okay?" She laughs a little bit.

Angela laughs. "Make me stay in my room and no television?"

"You're a softy, Dad. I won't tell anyone, though."
She snuggles her cheek against his shoulder.
