She catches his eye and curls around her seat, stretching and not really yawning. "Mmm, good morning."

The possibility of their not being from the same universe also proves problematic.

Jack, the-man-who-is-young-enough-to-be-Satine's-son, leans over and gives her a kiss on the cheek.

"You look like you need some coffee."

Mun will not quote "Come What May," as it's OW TRUE LOVE WRONG. But. No mountain/river/etc/etc.

Funny how a strech can turn into a hug. "I would love that. With plenty of cream and sugar."

It's probably not actually morning. What's more likely is that she just woke up from a nap. Mmm, sleeping on your own schedule. Mun dreams of such luxury.

The nearest waitrat is soon shooed off with a mission to get coffee. Meanwhile, Jack sits next to her.

"If it's morning, maybe you should eat breakfast."

"That sounds lovely." After a quick conference with another waitrat, Jack and Satine are soon presented with a platter of strawberries and cream. Satine gives him a Look. "Care to share a bite?"

"Of course."

She dips one plump, lopsided red fruit into the bowl of cream and holds it out. "Open up."

Which he does, obediently, leaning over so she doesn't have to stretch so much to get the strawberry in.

She places it between his teeth, singing to herself as she does so. "And I'll be wrapped around your finger..."

The Police were totally a hit at the floor show. Also, if she's on Jack's iPod... carnage and chaos in the best way possible.

She really does have a beautiful voice.

He chomps down on the strawberry. "Mmm."

With great delicacy and deliberation, Satine scoops a pile of cream onto another strawberry -- a juicier, more wrinkled one -- and bites. Her eyes slip shut for a moment. "You took the words right out of my mouth."

Bar deserves a good tip for those berries. Good lady.

"Are you really surprised? I haven't had any bad food since I arrived here."

"Everything about this place has been absolutely exquisite. I'm almost sorry I didn't come here sooner."

"Yes. Exquisite. Even the people."

Satine smiles.

"I wish I could take you back to Paris and show you what my life is like. I know you would love to see it."

"Perhaps when you become unBound. I would love to go."

Really, he's content to stay with her, here.

I hope it's soon is on the tip of her tongue. Strange, though: once the door opens again, she'll have to go through it in a hurry, straight to her Elephant and straight to the waiting Duke.

Staying is a much pleasanter thought. She eats another strawberry.

"Your friends back at home wouldn't find me strange, would they?"

...if only he knew who her friends were.

She tilts her head.

"...They might try to enlist you. They're very democratic when it comes to their cause."

"Enlist me into what?"

She makes them sound like the military.

She leans forward. "Bohemianism," she whispers, making it sound as vaguely sinister as she can without laughing. "It's very modern."

Ai, she can't get that close to him without getting caught! Jack lifts one hand to place behind her neck and strokes his thumb against her skin.

"I don't think I'd make a good bohemian. I'm too bourgeois."

Mm, stroking. Jack Driscoll, you are one smooth frood.

"I don't know about that. I could test you. Do you believe in beauty?"
