Max is curled up in a booth, sipping coffee and flipping idly through a book. This is not unusual. The skirt and sweater she is wearing are. Everyone needs a bit of a change sometimes.

Come bother the X5. She won't bite.

Logan is now settling into the other side of her booth with a cup of coffee of his own. He's glancing at the sweater and skirt with a smile before saying anything.

"You look pretty. Any occasion?"

She raises an eyebrow, though the fact that she's struggling not to smile ruins the attempt at playing the offended party. "You mean I'm not always pretty?"

He flashes her a bright grin. "I'm sorry. Prettier than usual."
He tilts is head. "Is that better?"

"Hmmm..." She pretends to consider for a moment. "Much. So, how're you doing? Nab any new bad guys?"

He chuckles. "I'm doing well. And no. But then I don't nab them. I just help other people do that."

He tilts his head. "How are you doing?"

She doesn't stick her tongue out at him, but the temptation's there. "You know what I meant."

"I'm okay. Need to ask you a favour, actually..."

He gives her a smile. "Do I?"

And then he's sitting up a little. "What with?"

"Hello again."

Nynaeve stands nearby, hand dropping resolutely from her braid to straighten out her skirt.

"Your advice has been very helpful, so far."

"Hello." Max looks up, smiling slightly. "I'm glad to hear it - that's what I'm here for, after all. So, how are you settling in?"

"I am settling reasonably well, I think. Familiar faces are--"

She clenches her jaw, then forces herself to relax.

"--helpful, in some respects."

"They can be. If they're friends, anyway, or at least neutral. I'd imagine it would be...unpleasant...to run into enemies here." A slight smile.

Nynaeve nods, perhaps a shade too emphatically.

"Light, yes. I've been lucky in that regard, at least."

If not in others. Burn Moiraine, anyway.

Max gives her a brief, considering look, then smiles. "That's good to hear."

Duo flops on the other side of the booth. He checks out her legs, too.

"S'up?"

"Hey." She grins slightly, the expression somewhat amused. "No worries - there were no brain-eating aliens involved."

"Oh good, I was worried." His tone is dry. "Reading anything good?"

"It's not all that engrossing." She sets the book aside. "What's up?"

"I was thinking about dinner." This is obviously a topic deserving much thought. Duo pauses to look pensive.

Hush, you. It's only improper if showing your ankles is improper.

"Ah. A very weighty topic, that one." She's definitely snickering a little.

And a smiling Hank wanders over, and if there is a flash of concern as he scans his eyes across her, surely that is a illusion of the light.

"Greetings and salutations, Max."

The illusion seems to hold steady...

"Hey, doc." She waves with one hand, the other still holding the book. At least until she finishes her page and sets it down.

He grins.

"What's got your interest so steadily? And how are you feeling?"

His eyes weighty her visibly now, as his voice shifts a little.

"Count of Monte Cristo." She smiles faintly. "I'm feeling okay. No relapses. How are you?"

Yep. It's still there.

He cocks his head, nods.

"I am okay. Been a long week, what with everything happening, but I have made some headway working on your situation, unlocking your gentic code. The hardest parts are isolating the tetragenetic changes caused by the disease factor and the lycanthropic chemicals in your blood system."

His voice is much quiieter, almost a rumble. But he knows her ears can hear it.

She nods slightly. "Just luck the problems didn't spring up earlier, I suppose..."

"What do you suggest, as far as treatment goes?"
