After this conversation, Kevin is sitting alone in a booth, a pot of rapidly cooling tea on the table in front of him, trying to figure out what the hell just happened.

"You new here, mate?"
He has a very thick Scottish accent.

He points to the baby on his back, then holds out a hand.
"Richard Mayhew, pleasure."

"Good to meet you. He's yours?"

"Aye, this is my pride and joy, Joshua. He's just turned nine months."
Joshua grins up at Kevin, most of his tiny, pearly baby teeth already in place. The canines might look a little sharp though. Richard pulls out a bottle and starts feeding him. The formula inside is pink, or maybe the bottle is pink, it's hard to say.

"So, standard questions. When and where are you from, and how did you find Milliways?"

Richard hasn't seen Eska in a while and neither of his sons could go to a regular pediatrician.

"Oh, brilliant. He did come through here, then. Gary has custody of Andrei most of the time. 's easier if we share out the parenting, y'know."

"They look pretty close to the same age - twins?"

"No, not twins, they're four months apart. I adopted them."

"Not so much 'good', as 'entirely selfish'. I wanted kids, and adoption was the only way at the time. Luckily I have very supportive family and friends."
