Dapper young writer in the bar, dressed to the nines: pinstriped blue suit and vest, a gray tie and a pair of shiny black shoes. Somebody's been to a wedding reception. He's now seated at a table, enjoying a glass of delicious, but expensive wine, scanning the crowds for people he knows.

The extra seats, however, are always available for someone he doesn't.
