Happy Hour...of the future!!!!

Once upon a time in the magical world of Milliways, Kaylee and Eddie Dean were having a conversation. Kaylee said wistfully that she'd always wanted to try bartending, only...mechanic, and lack of time. Well, says Eddie, How about you take a shift and see what it's like?

So. Cookies have been dropped off at the Dean residence as a way of saying thanks; the Black Books of Bartending Lore under Bar have been perused (on Eddie's advice), a few specials have been chalked up on the board:

Wooly Mitten
Pink Cello
Tangerine Dream
New Canaan brandy

And Kaylee is leaning on Bar, looking eager and adorable. You know how it is. Sometimes you just want to duct-tape her mouth and drop her in the hold for a month.

"Hey, folks. Happy Hour's open. What'll you have?"

Kaylee considers this. "...yeah, I can see how that works." Headtilt. "There's still spring places, though. Right?"

"Indeed, and there are still celebrations that bear my name, though they have changes some of the meaning. It helps though. I've got it better than some others."

She shrugs. Were there any that still believed in her when the earth was abandoned, Kaylee might possibly be able to find a version of her somewhere in her own time.

"Well. That's good. 'Cause...you'd be a hell of a person to lose."

She smiles wistfully.

"You are a dear girl, but things tend to happen now without so much of my help. Most people don't even remember who I ever was. That's why I like it here."

"Just so long as you're happy. Reckon that's what matters."

"I'm happiest making sure that others are well taken care of, Kaylee."

She laughs a little.

"People here let me fuss at them a bit. And the men don't mind being flirted with either, which is nice."
