There's a Giles in the bar.
Middle-aged Watcher with a guitar, and he's sitting over by the stage on a barstool.
Got a giftie in his pocket for someone (since he missed them on V-Day)
Soft strumming on the guitar, and gentle, clear voice.
(It's rock music, but relax, this music has no further properties than typical music performed well)
Something in the way she moves,
Attracts me like no other lover.
Something in the way she woos me.
I don't wanna leave her now,
You know I believe, her now.
Somewhere in her smile she knows,
That I don't need no other lover.
Something in her style that shows me.
I don't wanna leave her now,
You know I believe, her now.
You're asking me will my love grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
You stick around now, it may show,
I don't know, I don't know.
Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't wanna leave her now.
You know I believe, her now.

And since the mun had to work all day on V-day, Easter is sitting off to the side, dressed in a squashy sweater, sipping a caramel machiato, listening to the song.
She always liked the Beatles.

He then repeated the last stanza to finish.
Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't wanna leave her now.
You know I believe, her now.
"Hello."
no subject
"Hello yourself."
She grins, sipping her warm, caffinated beverage.
"I didn't know you played the guitar."

He got up, carrying the guitar, and then laying it down by her table. He sat down, and fished a package out of his pocket.
"I know it's not your holiday, but here, Happy Valentine's Day." It was jewelry with a pendant (http://buttermilklane.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BLPFJ&Product_Code=fmnrp&Category_Code=sspend) and earrings (http://buttermilklane.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BLPFJ&Product_Code=resinr-fmn-dan&Category_Code=FE%20%A0) to match.

"It's not..."
She opens the package and stares at them for a moment.
"Oh."
She traces a finger over the pendant and a slow, touched smile creeps across her face.

"They're lovely."
She leans over to brush her lips across his cheek.
"Help me fasten it?"
no subject
"Of course." He got up, carefully taking the pendant, and finding the clasp. After a bit of fumbling, he got it open, and gently placed it around her neck. Once it was secure, his hand drew a feathery line across the nape of her neck lovingly.
He then sat down across her, and went to take her hand.
"How have you been?"
no subject
"Better and better every day."
It is perhaps not so unusual for him to know of people who's power and influence wax and wane over the course of the year.
"And yourself?"
no subject
"Good. And I'm well. Trying to find new ways to relax." There's an amused expression on his face at that.
no subject
She laughs delightedly.
"Don't try too hard now, or it'll defeat the whole purpose. Though I do approve of your musical selection."
Her green eyes catch and hold the laughter.
no subject
He added with a sly smile, "Well, had some inspiration for that particular selection."
no subject
She beams at him.
"Lucky girl."
The mun would like to state right now, that her own feelings toward that song have no bearing at all to the way the pup feels about it. It's just one of the best songs ever. Really.
no subject
"Considering present company, I could argue about that," Giles humbly replied.
He added, "And in reference to my performing, I find it does help pass time here." His blue-eyed gaze flickered over to the wall briefly. Still Bound. Well, then.

Her eyes follow his, there her door stands. She waves her hand slightly at the compliment.
"Not to mention that it brings pleasure to the masses. I'm not going to argue with that."
no subject
He then added, "Sorry, just wanted to check. At some point, whenever that opens again, I do have some pressing emergencies to be dealt with. Great evil, world out of balance." "This is my business. Blood of the lamb and all that."
no subject
"This is a way-station, Rupert. We all go back or move on eventually. The lucky ones manage to come and go."
She reaches over to take his hand with a little smile.
"We all have duties."
no subject
"Perhaps the Bar will be kind enough to let me return whenever I want." He was worried about what was going on there. Another reason he found it hard to relax. Not with that burden, and now knowing some of what was to possibly come didn't help at all.
no subject
She eyes him worriedly, she's been around long enough to know that expression and what lies behind it.
"For some people, time does not pass while they are here, or it passes far slower. Perhaps you won't have missed much."

Butt the yellow beastie knows when something has a beat.
And so there is now one audience member boogieing down to acoustic Beatles.

He then picked up the pace of his strumming, and the tune was now clearly the Who.

I know you've deceived me, now here's a surprise
I know that you have 'cause there's magic in my eyes
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
