Merlin is sitting in a booth in the bar.

He looks better than he did yesterday, we can give him that. The bruises are beginning to fade to a sickly green, and the bandages on his arm have been changed recently. He also seems to have lost most of the sickly pallor and haunted look in his eyes.

All in all, he's looking much better. And he may have learned his lesson about going outside.

This Merlin isn't Merriman-Merlin, who is Ako's usual Arthurian target of choice, but he's a Merlin, which is where there is a bound-by snogging. In the manner of Foxes she's there, she says hello enthusiastically (it involves tongue) and then she's continuing unless called back.

Max is not what anyone, anywhere, would ever call motherly. But the appearance of injured children, even injured children who are not nearly so injured as they might have been a day or so ago, concerns her.
