Mendanbar thought he was going into his study, but the door seems to have brought him back here. Which is far more interesting than having another conversation with a rather grumpy gargoyle, so he's no complaints.
So, a new tall, untidy, black-haired (live) king in the bar. You can tell he's a king by the thin gold circlet he's got pushed back off his forehead at a somewhat rakish angle. And you can tell he's new because he's got that still slightly confused look.

Inyri is sitting near by, and Mendanbar should come and poke her. Maybe she'll stop frowning.

"Hello," he says, carefully cheerful.

"No, no, I'm sorry. It's nothing. Just...personal crap." Inyri smiles a little more genuinely now. "Welcome to Milliways."

It's what would be the expected question at home. And until he learns otherwise, he'll go on Enchanted Forest rules.

Here's a rather transparent young man. He's not used to being rather transparent, so he's focusing more on that than on observing his surroundings. As such, he nearly bumps into Mendanbar, barely noticing in time to avoid a collision. "I'm sorry. I should have been watching where I was going."
no subject
"It's quite all right," says Mendanbar, who has no idea that being rather transparent is not the norm for the other young man.

A moment.
"And what is a Venus Adept. I'm afraid I've never heard the term."

Felix has, really, no idea how to act around kings. The one he's met back home is very personable, which his chief advisor complained about.
"Most people would call us earth wizards."
Obviously, Felix doesn't know anything about the wizards of Mendanbar's universe.no subject
"Wizards?" Mendanbar asks a little nervously, automatically gesturing with one hand to move the threads of magic that run through the Forest away from Felix . . . and then remembering that there aren't any here.
"I'm sorry, but you just don't seem like a wizard."

It's all he's got.
"And wizards in my world are . . . problematic."
