Thank God for being a shapeshifter.

Meaning, there is a normal, cracked out, cheerful kitsune humming to herself as she gleefully reverse-engineers a gadget on one of the tables in the bar. Laini also has tea, and strawberry pocky available for stealing.

He wrinkles his nose at her. "Yeah, I know," he agrees. "She might somehow be related to the whole 'staying out of prison' thing I've mentioned once or twice."

Laps are the perfect place for kitsune to sit. clearly.

Logan nods. "Yeah. Not such a good way to prove you're not a total asshole, though."

"Thanks," Logan says, giving her a crooked smile. "Her dad's a fake witness to my so-called 'crime.' I'm not sure where it's going to get me yet, but it's something I've got to check out, you know?"

"Yeah," he says. "And either way, nice kid Hannah's totally screwed."

"Way too often for my liking," he says. "But hey, there's Milliways, and a Laini, and chocolate. So it can't be all bad, right?"

"Most definitely," Logan says, grinning back. "And to ignore the depressing things for absolutely as long as possible."

Of course, for Logan, that one percent tends to be pretty bad, but the point is a good one all the same.

"Not a bad way to look at things," he says. "You must be a philosopher-scientist type."

"Yeah, I've found it pretty effective," he agrees. "Once the really immediately awful part is over, anyway. Anticipating trouble just doesn't seem to be the best way to go about it."

Well, of course she is! And she's right.

"Good point," he says. "I'm pretty lucky to know you, pretty lady."

"Thanks," he says, pleased. "It's good to be part of a mutual admiration society. Especially such an exclusive one."

((Totally fine! Catch you later.))

"I think so," Logan says. "And it should be written on a bar napkin right now. Over drinks, which I can provide, as I am clever. For once."

He produces the hip flask. "No options, though, so if you're not a whiskey fan, I can't help."

Logan does not, but Bar does. She's obliging, and provides glasses as well. Logan thanks her politely.

Even though the pen is pink.

"I'm a whiskey fan, but it's not for everyone," Logan says, handing over the pen. He then pours the alcohol. "First rule should definitely have to do with levels of awesomeness."

"Totally," he said. "Good to know. Hotness, too, I think we've got covered."
