There is a maimed prince with a whole VERITABLE STACK of books, note pads, and a couple of scrolls with him on the table. There is also a slender case on the table, which holds a flute inside. He has gone through two parts of ginseng tea and thus, remains both busy and rather energizeed.
Zuko has been busy, it seems, and he has not had and entrance post in some time, so here he is -- please, come and ask about the several projects that keep the prince from going insane while he waits for the door to appear.

But he eventually pours himself another cup of tea, and sips it, before he asks in a curt tone, "Must you stare?"
Boys with scars rarely enjoy being a spectacle.

"Merely observing the room."

But then he ducks his head, and attempts to return to his study, brush moving back and forth over the page, occasionally dipping against the inkstone.

"Perhaps, I will."
no subject
"Excellent," he says, though he doens't look up to see her glare. "I'm sure there are much more interesting things here for your eyes to rest on."
no subject
"There certainly are."
no subject
"Good, then," he replies in clipped, irritable tones. "I'm glad you've found something that pleases you."
no subject
"And if only I could get some silence."

"Sorry I wasn't about last night. I didn't get t'leave a note- it was that mission."

In fact, he's rather thankful Wells gives two damns at any time; he doesn't expect to be a priority.

"Don't trouble yourself," he says simply. "I keep myself busy."
no subject
"Good to know," he says. "I came into possession of a few new weapons, by the by. If you wanted to see them, I could show you- I've only had the chance to practise with one of 'em yet, haven't got ammo for the other two."

The sentence could easily sound snotty, but there's a certain measure of awe to Wells' tone that takes the possible insult out of the words.

And she sees Zuko in there.
And that also makes her blink. She hasn't met him before. Is he new?
Bubbles hovers closer up above the tables and watches him below. "Are you looking for something?"
no subject
"Uh," he says, "No -- I'm just studying," he says, blinking his eyes.
no subject
"Studying what?"
Bubbles figures that since he hasn't just turned back to his scrolls and papers that she's not disturbing him.
And she's always interested in learning something new.
She gently lands in the seat across from him. Making sure that she can still see over the stacks of books and papers. "Oh. I'm sorry. My name is Bubbles." she smiles.

"... music, language, weaponsmithing." A wide variety, but there's little to do otherwise here for the boy. He doesn't seem to mind her company, though he does occasinoally stare at her hair. Blonde!
no subject
Gotta love x-ray vision.
"Why are you studying so much?" Bubbles asks in curiosity, tilting her blond head lightly. She doesn't seem to notice his occasional staring. Or doesn't mind it. Either or.
no subject
THat's one way to put it.
no subject
Oh well.
Bubbles isn't one to dwell on unpleasant things for too long.
"Why don't you have some fun instead? It must be boring just reading and studying all day."
no subject
And Zuko needs his mind kept as busy as possible!
