Ako had mentioned to Laini about the tabs. Thus, when Laini arrives today, she has a small purse-sized bag with her. It gets set on the top of the Bar, and she rapidly sorts through it. Yira, shekles, galliahs, omis, along with chinese dollars and USD $2 bills get stacked on the bartop as she does conversions on her PDA.

"Sixty-nine per, cross by the inflation rate of feathers in finland... and that should cover it, with a bit to spare. We're good?"

Apparently, as the money vanishes. Laini grins, and orders some sort of coffee drink, with enough flavors and sugar in it that the existance of coffee in the cup is debatable.

"And the whole idea of laying on a beach somewhere down in Baja, listening to Margaritaville being played by a mariachi band, and being on the run from a murderous rabbit sort of sell those beers too." Laini sighs, a bit wistfully.

"Well, of course. Although for me it was on the run from physical therapists and threrapists in general." His tone didn't change. hard to say if he was joking or not. Probably not.

He finishes off his milkshake and pushes the glass back to the bar. it disappears.

"Bah. You should get dragged to a nice beach down in Baja, soak up some rays- and we can see about smuggling some Sam Adams down for you even, if you'd like." Laini nods sagely.

"That sounds like a dream, Laini." House smiles. A genuine smile. "Other than coming here, I haven't had a vacation for years."

[OOC: SP s perfectly fine with me, I'll be here tomorrow evening, about the same time as today]

Laini blinks, and stares at House, ears flattening. "Everyone needs vacations. Sheesh. You're a doctor, isn't there some sort of health thing to it, that you'd know about?"

"There are studies that show..." He starts, but then laughs. "Yeah. There's a mental health argument for getting away for a couple days, a couple times a year. Thing is, my job, the patients don't stop coming in." He shrugs. Hardly an excuse, but...he'd take what he could get.

"Well, you'd hardly do any good to them if you come down sick yourself, from overwork. See?" Laini points out, with a nod.

And- given she did get him sick with the Fox Cold a while back and almost killed him- the kitsune does Owe him. The mun just remembered this, so Laini does as well.

She is pondering.

"True, true." House smiles a little smile. "Really, this place, usually, is like a vacation. At least, it gets me out of my own way for a while."

"But I don't think it quite beats sitting on a beach drinking coronas and silly drinks with umbrellas in them. Close- but not quite." Laini grins.

"Nothing would beat sitting on a beach with drinks that have silly umbrellas. Even if the drink is a corona. I don't think I've done that since my last college spring break."

"Hm." Laini eyes him, shiftly. "Then you probably should, y'know? Figure out some time and get it off, and high tail it down there."

"Yeah. Maybe." He smiled a little sadly. "The cane and the sand don't mix well. Helaing...doesn't hold up, when I go out the door. It's a Bar thing only."

".... now that sucks." Her ears flatten. "Well, a vacation doesn't mean you have to be out on the sand- just near it. And that's doable, right?"

"Yeah. Yeah it is." House nodded. he leaned up to kiss her cheek. "Thank you, Laini."

[OOC: Heading to bed in just a sec, want to wrap since it's been a couple days?]

((Wrap is good. House is going to find some vacation tickets soon, though, by hook or by crook.))

She smiles- a bit sadly perhaps- but she is still plotting. A quick kiss and hug back.

"No need for thanks, Gregory. At least not yet."

"You're up to something, I can tell." House arched his brow at her. "And I suppose there's no chance you'll tell me what it is?"

Laini just grins. "What would be the fun in that?"

A wink, and she laughs, bouncing off.

"Surprises are much more fun!"

He shakes his head as she bounces off. But he's smiling. And feeling happy. He turns and heads up to his room, still smiling.
