A goddess walks into a bar.
Maybe 'bounces' is a more appropriate term, though perhaps a bit less dignified. Not that she cares. It is her time of year. Her season in the sun, so to speak, and it shows in her mood.
Come talk to her, she'll buy you a drink.
((OOC: Off for dinner, back shortly.))

Having hung around the far-from-normal crowd for so long, even before Milliways, Eddie's got something of a sixth sense for people who are...well, different. Gods and goddesses fall into that category. So his attention is draw to her pretty quickly. But he's the cautious type, and he'll wait to figure out who or what she is before approaching.
[ooc: Couldn't help it. Had to tag. And I apologize in advance for the total lack of icons.]

Easter is generally one of those completely non-threatening in appearance. Unless you really tick her off, which doesn't happen very often. In addition to that, she's looking generally pleased with the world today. She's halfway through her first Tequila Sunrise.
((OOC: No worries, until recently, I had precisely one icon for her. *G*))

No, wait, scratch that. Eddie can recall one or two people he knew who would drink Tequila Sunrises and then go kill people. So...maybe it's not so safe. Ah well, he'll have to take his chances. He'd rather die by approaching her than die from boredom. He walks over to her, his eyes scanning the bar lazily before turning his gaze back to her.
"And you'd be?"
Ok, so Eddie's manners are really not the best.

Easter's seen worse, and today there's little that will bother her. She turns, and smiles up at him, pushing her hair back from her face. Her eyes are as green as new leaves, and sparkling with good humor.
"You can call me Easter if you like."
She eyes him up and down, and he might get the impression that he's being appraised. Though it is certainly with good humor that she's doing so.

"Easter? Your parents named you after a holiday?"
He really, really hopes that's the case. He's already met Snow White, and his sanity is somewhat taxed as it is.
no subject
"I like to think that the holiday was named after me."
Which, of course, it was.
"And what is it that I can call you?"
no subject
"Eddie, Eddie Brock."
At least he's not talking to the living embodiment of chocolate bunnies and eggs that come from questionable sources.
no subject
Then she won't mention that part... *shfty*
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Eddie. Can I ask where you're from, or is that some deep, dark secret?"

She laughs a little at that, she'll take it at face value until she needs to do otherwise.
"San Fransisco, two thousand four."
She pushes her hair back from her face again, flashing the blue forget-me-nots tattooed around her wrist.

She shrugs eloquently.
"Stranger things have happened. I think that the very existance of this place is proof of that. Though i don't know how we'd prove such a thing unless we met there sometime."

Her eyes narrow a little, thinking.
"No, can't say that they do. I guess not then. I tend to loose count of how many there are, really."

"Worlds, dimensions, versions of Earth. Whatever. It's a little crazy sometimes."
She shrugs.
"Hard to keep track of."
((OOC: Sorry these are coming in slow, I'm not getting notices))

"I'd figure. So, um, I can't help but ask this...I didn't just wander over because I'm a nice and social person. I got some weird vibes from you, any idea why that might be?"
no subject
"Do you often get weird vibes from people you've never met, or is it a one time thing? Not that you might not get 'weird vibes' from just about anyone that can come here."
She smiles up at him again.
"But yeah, I have a few ideas as to why."
no subject
"I get weird vibes from some people more than others, and I'm getting heavy vibes off of you. Why don't you share with me why it is I'm getting this feeling?"
no subject
She smiles that smile again and leans forward conspiratorially.
"You asked me about my name earlier, and I said that I like to think that the holiday is named after me? Well, that's because it is."

She laughs long and hard at that.
"No... rabbits are just a symbol, silly. The fertile little things that they are. I am Eostre, that's all."
Somehow it sounds different when she says it this time, almost the same, but not quite.
"How long have you been coming here?"
no subject
no subject
She shrugs.
"People tend to take things differently when they first arrive than they do after they've been around for a while. It all depends on how many different sorts of people you meet."
no subject
no subject
"So you should be used to strange things by now."
She grins again.
"Why do you act so suspicious?"

Her smile turns gentle.
"We're all a bit less immortal than we'd like to think. And it isn't easy to get me mad, so you should be okay on that front."
no subject
"Well, Eostre, what are you?"
no subject
"I'm just a girl who's out lived her usefulness."
She's still smiling, though it is a little more sad now.
"Though once I was worshipped."

"I used to make certain that the sun rose, that the spring came, that the land was re-born. Mostly those things happen without me nowadays."
She shrugs again.

"Oh, not to worry. I have plenty to do, just nothing that I'm needed for. I'm one of the luckier of my kind. There are some that haven't been able to adjust to changing times."

[ooc: Be back in twenty minutes or so.]

"There are as many of us as people have ever imagined. But no, we don't control everything. We were given our responsibilities and our identities. And we looked after our people."
no subject
[ooc: Slow-time alright with you?]
no subject
"We are where ever people believed we should be. I can't say anything about other worlds, I've only ever been to mine."
((OOC: Slowtime is wonderful.))
