*Alanna and Corwin slowly appear in a darkened corner of the bar. Both Prince and Knight look as though they were recently in a fight, but emerged victorious. As she slowly opens one eye, Alanna's nervous expression gives way to an ecstatic smile. Laughing, she gives Corwin a quick hug and leads the way to the bar.*

*A bottle of rum and two glasses begin to appear.* Screw the glasses. Just make it two bottles.
*The glasses fade out to be replaced by a second bottle.*

Are you relatively satisfied that you can come and go now?

*Takes a deep breath and blows it out slowly* I feel infinitely more comfortable with the idea, yes. However, I imagine that finding my way to and from Tortall will be a bit more difficult.
*Takes another drink* Truthfully, I'm not sure how I feel. On one hand, I'm elated. On the other... I'm almost frightened. *grimaces* What a sorry state of affairs.

Hello.

*Eyes locked on Kero's sword* Good evening, Lady. Are you new here? Care for a drink? It seems you've caught me on a good night.
no subject
Yes, I'm new. Name's Kerowyn. *she bows in return* I'd love a drink. My Companion wants me to relax, hence sending me to a bar. Not that It was extremely relaxing the first time I was here. I'm still a little confused about where, exactly I am? Do you know?
no subject
You are in Milliways, Lady Kerowyn. The bar at the end of the universe. I am Sir Alanna of Trebond, Knight of Tortall and current Milliways bouncer. I am happy to answer any questions you might have, but first I must ask one of you. *grins* What is your drink of choice?
no subject
I'd love a glass of wine. I'm not much of a drinker.
Bar at the end of the universe? Trust that Horse to send me somewhere like that. *rolls her eyes*

*His eyes stray to her sword.* Another lady knight? Did this become some sort of feminist headquarters? Should I expect to hear a jukebox blaring Indigo Girls music any minute now?
no subject
I'm not a Knight. I'm a merc. And a Herald of Valdemar *she adds that last after a second. She's still not quite used to that title.*
As for a jukebox and, what was it? Indigo Girls? I have no idea what you are talking about. Never heard of any of those things.
no subject
It's probably for the best that you haven't heard of those things, or I'd likely have gained another bruise tonight.
*Corwin bows slightly.* And it appears I have forgotten my manners. Corwin of Amber at your service.

Hello, Peter! That bad, huh? Funny, I feel almost refreshed. Prince Corwin took me to one of Amber's finer establishments. Good food, good drink, a little brawling... my kind of place, really. *laughs* Apparently we offended the locals. They took exception to our company. *smirks* Their mistake.
*winces* I probably don't want to know, but is it truly that bad?
no subject
But he's not an idiot, he can comprehend things, and the fact that Alanna is willingly talking to him says that she's not holding any grudges over the fight and what happened. So why is he?
"It's not that bad. Just... surprising."

*Alanna looks down, scuffing the floor with the toe of her dirty boot in an almost child-like manner.*
Why is it surprising? You've seen me fight before. *looks up, gesturing to her bruised cheek* This tends to happen from time to time.
*Frowns at Corwin's use of the word "junior"* Have you officially met Peter? Peter Wiggin, this is Prince Corwin of Amber.

"Sir Alanna. We had business together, if you're not busy?"
no subject
*softly* Good evening, Lochiel. *Gives the other nearby a worried look* For you, I can make time.
*Biting her lip, she moves closer* Are you well, Lochiel? You seem... different.

Experimenting? Goddess, you sound like Thom. Are you positive this will work? *Sighing, she leans over and rests her hand on his shoulder.* It is not imperative, Lochiel. I do not want to be the cause of any suffering on your part.
no subject
He hesitates. "As to whether it will work - I can't be certain about that, I've never tried anything like this before. If it doesn't work, though, it won't harm me to have tried. My magic isn't inimicable to me, it won't hurt me."
He notices the bruise and frowns, but doesn't say anything about it. He knows what warriors are like about injuries.
