(no subject)

Git, in the back corner, in his normal robes. He's got a pile of books on the table in front of him, along with a cup of tea, and his wand. Strike that. The wand is firmly clenched in his hand. He doesn't want any long toothed miscreant making off with it. Again.

The title of the book he's currently reading? 'The Binding and commanding of Spirits'

...Oops?

"And that means?" A querying eyebrow raises.

"How lucky for you." It's almost a disinterested drawl.

"I suppose on your world, then, magic is confined to those of. . . pure blood?"

"I. . . see. On my world, we all had magic. You would call us Jinn, I believe."

She tilts her head to the side again.

"You seem to wish to change the order of things?"

"Yes," she nods. "Descended from Adam's first wife, Lilith."

An approving smile is forthcoming at that.

"As it should be. It is not, then?"

"And you seek to change this."

It's a bland enough statement, but one that holds all sorts of questions.

Then he'll have to wait a while. She's not really that interested in his political machinations.

"What form does magic take, in your world?" Thaumatergy is much more interesting.

"That seems rather simplistic," she says, disapprovingly.

"What of the theories, finer thaumatergical principles? Or do you merely point a wand" she suits actions to words, drawing a slim filigreed sliver wand, capped with what appears to be a diamond, from her sleeve, "say 'ice'" and as she speaks, his tea freezes over, "and that is all?"

She didn't need the word, of course, but it suited her point.

"I see."

A quick flick of her other hand, and his tea is steaming hot - hotter than it had been, in fact. She does this silently, carelessly.

"And casting spells without wands?"

[personal profile] whitest_witch 2006-04-18 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
She raises an eyebrow.

"But it is not the normal practice."

She nods.

"My people are able to learn and use most magics, it seems, although I have only a sample of one."

The witch blinks.

"How rude."

And she leaves.
