Molly isn't in the gardens, for a change.

She was there earlier, but finished her work, and is now sitting on a large rock by the lake with a brightly colored mass of canvas that will be a magnificent kite, once it's assembled.

She could use magic to get it aloft once it's ready, but the traditional way is much more fun. Unfortunately, a kite this size would take two people to get it in the air.

"Yes. I was careful to concentrate and stay focussed as you taught me... I wouldn't dare take chances, especially with another person depending on me."

She pauses in her kite building.

"I had some thoughts on it, but I'm not sure. You see, I don't know if the world I went to has magic or not. I never tried to use it the entire time I was there. I thought maybe... maybe the only reason the spell worked at all was because it took the magic from inside me, instead of from the environment."

"You might be right... in that case, before you go to any such places again, give me time to construct a battery."

he nods, slowly.

Her brow furrows at the familiar word, because she has no idea, really what a battery does.

"I don't know what that means."

"A repository of magic energy. It would be shielded and you would wear it next to your skin. That way if you cast a spell somewhere where there was litle or no magic, it would draw it's power out of the battery. It would only be good for a certain number of spells, but could be recharged as well."

"That sounds incredible. And worth a try, since I hope to go back there, sometime."

Either with Cain, or on her own.

"What would I need to do?"

She doesn't expect him to do all the work, after all.

He thinks.

"Find something that you like, and could stand to wear all the tiem when you go on such trips. Spell it with a common spell, somethign you use often, and do that a few times. The more attuned to you it is, the better. Then when that is done, I will walk you through the ensorceling technique to make it a permanent item."

"I already wear this."

She tugs a silver chain from beneath her blouse, and a silver ring dangles from it. It's the wish that Tim gave her.

"It was a gift from a friend at Christmas, but it already has a rather big spell on it. I don't know if it would be safe to add more.

"Maybe if I added a charm to the chain? Or would it need to be bigger than that?"

"The chain would be fine. And we could reinforce it so it wouldnt break easily, as well."

He smiles.

"Excellent."

"I didn't even think of the chain. I think it's already reinforced, but I'm not sure. I'd have to ask Tim, as he's the one who make it for me."

Magius nods.

"Take your time. It wont take too long to do the magic, so we can do it whnever you are ready."

"That sounds good. I won't go back there until I've talked to you, first, though...."

She remembers Caitlin's invitation to go dancing.

"Which may be fairly soon."

"Then look me up when you need. I shall be around."

he grins.

"Thank you."

She grins up at him.

"Any interest in helping fly a kite?"

He looks at it dubiosuly.

"Sure?"

He blinks.

"How?"

The grin widens.

"It will do most of the work once it's up in the air."

She hops down from the rock, and grabs the spool of string. She walks away from the trees, and and hands him the kite, showing him how to hold it.

"I'll take the string, which is attached to the kite, and run that way."

She points in the direction near the lake.

"When you feel the string start to pull at the kite, you toss it up into the air as high as you can. It should catch the breeze and be airborn, then."

He listens, then nods.

"Okay."

he has never doine it ebfroe but its willing.

"Great!"

Molly makes sure that there is a good length of string let loose before she begins to run away from the spot where Magius is standing.

He waits until he feels it and then he tosses it up, hard as he can and laughs as he wind catches it.

Molly's smile couldn't possibly get any wider.

Perhaps it's not exactly what real phoenixes look like, but it was pretty good for a Muggle kite maker!

She turns to let out more string so that the phoenix can fly higher, and makes her way back to where Magius is standing.

"Thank you! You did it perfectly. Would you like to hold the string?"

He chuckles but chakes his head.

"That's okay. It is lovely! Nice job!"

Molly tugs on the string a bit to make the kite swoop, and laughs.

"I suppose I'm easly amused, but there's nothing like flying a kite on a breezy afternoon. Thank you for helping me launch it."

He smiles.

"I am glad to be of service."

he grins and steps back to watch. A nice day indeed.
