Molly isn't in the gardens, for a change.

She was there earlier, but finished her work, and is now sitting on a large rock by the lake with a brightly colored mass of canvas that will be a magnificent kite, once it's assembled.

She could use magic to get it aloft once it's ready, but the traditional way is much more fun. Unfortunately, a kite this size would take two people to get it in the air.

"Here, you can hold the string if you'd like."

Molly offers the spool over.

"It's easy enough...more string makes it go higher, and pulling on it one way or another can make it swoop a bit. The kite and the wind do most of the work."

She accepts the string hesitantly, careful to keep it taut.

When a new gust of wind catches the kite and tugs on the string, Agnes positively beams.

"It's fun, isn't it?"

She stands watching the kite for a while. It really was worth every knut, er, penny.

"What have you been up to? I haven't seen you in a while."

They needn't go into that whole awful mess about Jack again.

"It's amazing," she says honestly, swooping the kite along the breeze.

"Well, I've been in my room a lot," Agnes confesses. "And I did sort of help get rid of a problem from my world."

"What kind of problem? Did you go back home for that, , or was it here?"

"It was here. Someone else from my world came in and started making trouble for a lot of people. Stalking them, leaving them notes, playing at being some kind of Ghost. I met him back when I worked at the Opera House. He was quite mad. But it's okay now, because he's back where he belongs, and quite dead to boot."

"It's a good thing you were here, then. Though being dead doesn't mean much around here. I wonder how missed something like that going on."

Agnes has really got the hand of the kite flying!

"I've been spending a lot of time out here, I guess. The weather's been nice, and the bar gets crowded and noisy."

"You must have been out here, then, because there's no way you could have missed it," she says, tugging on the kitestring to get it away from the tree it was veering toward. "A swordfight in the middle of the bar is hard to overlook."

She motions with the roll of string. "Do you want to have a go? It is yours, after all."

Molly nods and takes the spool.

"A sword fight would definitely be hard to miss! I was going to say that I was out of the bar for three days, but it was only a few hours in bar time... how long ago was it?"

Agnes thinks a moment. "Almost a week ago?"

Had it really been that long? Time was really crazy in this place.

"Hmmm. No, I didn't leave here until a couple of days ago."

Ah, well, such is the life at Milliways.

"I'm sure something equally bizarre will be comong up soon."

"Really?" she asks, incredulous. "Things like that happen often around here?"

"I'm not sure I should tell you."

She's grinning, though.

"It might scare you away. Strange is the norm around here, I've found."

She tugs on the kite string a bit, and reels it in a little lower.

"On Mardi Gras, which is a Muggle Earth holiday, the Bar decided to give us very festive - and provocative - clothes. That was interesting. On April Fool's day (also an Earth holiday), someone set out free sweets that changed everyone into something else until midnight. Recently we had a demon cast a curse that made people dance and sing until they caught fire."

So...yeah, stuff like that does happen a lot.

Agnes smiles and chuckles. "Even if it would scare me away, it's not like I have anywhere to go so long as the door's still locked. Do you think I could get a calendar from the bar so I would know when these other holidays are so I can avoid them?"

"I know there's a calander by the notice board, but I don't know if it lists holidays. Even if it did, I probably wouldn't know what half of them were, to know if they should be avoided."

She shrugs.

"It was kind of fun, once I got over the surprise."

"I'll have to take your word for that."

She thinks.

"I hope."

Molly chuckles.

"It's part of what I love about this place. You never know what's going to happen next, or who you'll meet, or what you'll do... It's the ultimate adventure!"

"Well, that's certainly true!" she agrees with a laugh.
