Barty hasn't been in the bar much recently. He's mostly been alone or with Morgan.
But today, he's sitting by a window. He's come back in from a walk round the lake, glad that it's getting a bit warmer now.
He is, as usual, reading.

"Apple."

"Um."

There.

Tea's not quite done yet. That could have bene something to do, to occupy himself with, to pass the uncomfortable time.
"Love you," he says quietly.

He's still confused as to why she thought anything was wrong, but he's tried to push it to the back of his mind.

"I know. Course you do. We just argued." He shrugs. "Fights happen, sometimes."
He pours her a cup of tea, passes it across, and pours himself one.

"They do?"

He hopes this is true.

A little pause.
He leans over and kisses her.

"May Day on Monday."
no subject
"Just two days."
no subject
"Great."

"What's the plan?"

"Do... do you want me to be there?"
no subject
"Men never are."

"But I'll be close, in my room... not far."

He tilts his head a bit, and looks at her, knowing that it won't be much longer now til she's gone.
