Doorways and Returns
[[After this: Part Four - Grey Skies Ending - In which they .
find a way back home.]]
The door to the bar crashes open, and a huge green figure appears, carrying a small redheaded woman on top of a pile of bags and luggage. He is breathing heavily and has signs of several wounds along his form to show he has been through a battle recently. His clothing is utterly in tatters now.
Molly had left Milliways with Bruce Banner several days ago, but is now returning with the Hulk. She is beaten, bruised and nearly broken, and now she is shaking violently at the sight of a place she had thought she'd never see again.
"Please put me down," she tells the Hulk, and gasps and hisses as she hits the floor unceremoniously along with several bags that he's been holding. He looks at her and his eyes are a dull pained green.
"Hulk not like fighting. Hulk sorry nice redhead woman hurt. Hulk go away now."
As soon as his eyes lift from hers the kindness is gone and he growls with barely suppressed rage, simply leaving her there in a heap on the floor, crashing out the back door and disappearing from sight.
Molly can't do anything for the moment but stare off in shock, trembling. Then in a quiet voice, she simply says:
"I'm going to need some help."

Molly had left Milliways with Bruce Banner several days ago, but is now returning with the Hulk. She is beaten, bruised and nearly broken, and now she is shaking violently at the sight of a place she had thought she'd never see again.

"I'm going to need some help."
no subject
Brown eyes narrow, and she glares at the tall green figure as it drops the girl and leaves.
Then she stands, tossing her braid over her shoulder and moving briskly toward Molly.
"Where are you hurt?"
no subject
"Um...everywhere?"
no subject
And see she does, really.
"I hope you don't mind Healing, because I refuse to leave you like this."
She reaches out, resting one hand gently on Molly's shoulder, the bright golden glow of saidar springing up around her.
"Stay still, please."
no subject
She closes her eyes and holds perfectly still to let the other woman do her work.

There is a quick flash of heat, a rush of energy, and the broken arm begins to mend.
no subject
At the back of her mind, she just keeps repeating to herself: I'm home. I'm home. I'm home.
She isn't even aware of the tears leaking out from her eyes, now, or the fact that she's shaking like a leaf in the wind from reaction.
no subject
Nynaeve's voice is quiet and only a little distracted.
She begins forming another weave, sending braided tendrils of all five Powers racing through Molly, healing bruises and cuts as they go.
Again there is that faint sting of heat.
no subject
The pain is leaving, bit by bit, but she isn't relaxing at all, and her tremors are not subsiding.
Her inner mantra has changed now to: I want Cain. I want Cain. I want Cain.
"I want Cain."
She's not even aware that she's spoken aloud, but her eyes are open now, staring off into middle space again.
no subject
She pats Molly's shoulder, taking one step back.
"I'm afraid I don't know who that is."
no subject
"Thank you. I feel. Better."
At least, her body doesn't hurt any more.
She looks around her, seeing the bags that she was dropped to the floor with, and thinking vaguely that Bruce would need all of this when he eventually got a hold of himself again.
Foremost in her mind, though, is a single name.
Cain.
no subject
Her voice is brisk.
"Now, do you have a room, here?"
no subject
"Need to find Cain first."
But she doesn't move from her place on the floor. She's not sure how to go about finding him, other than to go knock on his door, or walk around the bar to see if he's around.
Neither of those is feasible at the moment with the way she's shaking, and the disjointed thoughts going through her mind.
"I'll be all right."
As soon as she finds Cain.
no subject
Nynaeve leans over.
"Perhaps it's best if you stand up, now, and I'll take you to your room. I'll leave a message for Cain. With the way you look, it's likely easiest if he finds you, instead."
no subject
"Hello, Nynaeve...hi, Molly...is everything all right?"
no subject
no subject
"Do you know where Cain is? Because I'd rather not leave her alone down here. Not with circumstances being as they are."
no subject
no subject
"Be fine. Just...want Cain."
She looks around helplessly, tears brimming in her eyes.
"I'm really back."
no subject
"If you don't mind, I think it would be best, yes."
She nods briskly.
"And now, I think, I'll take my leave of you. Though if she continues to be unwell, feel free to call on me again."
And with that, she turns to go.
no subject
She turns to Molly. "Hey, which room are you in? I'll help get you and your bags up there."
no subject
She eyes the bags around her and sobs once before sucking it up and trying to get to her feet, even though she's shivering.
no subject
She methodically and quickly searches the bags, finding the key at the bottom of the second one.
"Okay. Let's get you upstairs." Angela picks up the bags to sling them over her shoulders and extends a hand to help Molly to her feet.
no subject
She swallows hard, and sways on her feet for a moment before stiffening her spine.
"Thank you."
no subject
no subject
"Cain's room."
She knocks, not realizing how much stregth the healing gave her until the sound echoes loud in her ears and up and down the corridor.
When there is no answer, she turns sad eyes to Angela and walks to her own door.
no subject
"You need sleep."
no subject
She needs a Calming Draught and some Dreamless Sleep Potion, but doesn't have any on hand, and isn't up to brewing them tonight.
"If I write a note for Cain, would you please leave it at the bar?"
no subject
And as she writes, Angela goes over to turn down the covers of Molly's bed. "Do you have a nightgown in here?"
no subject
Molly's got parchment and a quill, and after a frustrating moment, gets the cap off of the ink.
In a very shaky hand, not much like her own writing, she writes simply " Cain - Please come. Molly."
She turns to hand it to Angela with tears brimming in her eyes again.
no subject
She takes the note and reaches out to her. "Oh, Molly. I'm not going to ask unless you want to talk about it, but I'm around if you need to."
no subject
"It just... all went wrong."
Her voice is quiet and strained.
She begins to unbutton her blouse, and eyes the fireplace, ready to burn the clothes she's in, but...
"My wand is broken."
She really can't think of anything more to say.
no subject
"You'll get a new one sometime soon, I'm sure."
Pause. "Can I help you...with anything?"
no subject
She stands to remove the rest of her clothes without embarassment, and slips the night gown over her head.
"And if you see him..."
She knows the rest doesn't need to be said as she obligingly climbs between the sheets that Angela peeled back for her.
no subject
Angela pulls the covers over her and absentmindedly tucks Molly in--just as she did for her little brother.
"Sleep well, okay? And if you need me, you know where I am."
no subject
She lays down and closes her eyes, not even sure how to turn off the lights without magic.
"I'll tell you about it... later, okay?"
And she closes her eyes.
no subject
"Good night, Molly."
And Angela closes the door quietly behind her.
