Mal has curled herself into a booth with a blanket around her shoulders, and a sketchpad and pencil in front of her. She seems to be drawing weapons.

Namely swords.

Shrugs.

"Your - second funeral, then."

"Also, mixing vodka and tequila wasn't the smartest idea I've ever had."

"Oh? I'd imagine."

Makes a face.

"Yep. So, what's with the swords?"

"Oh, I'm going to go home eventually, I figure."

Shrugs.

"And mine was...misplaced."

"Ah, I see. Anyone here who could make one for you?"

"No idea."

Looks thoughtful.

"Know of anyone?"

"Nope. I could ask around, though."

"That'd be nice."

Erases a hilt, tries again. Despite her best efforts, most are following the lines of scimitars.

"What kind you after? Broadsword, sabre...?"

"I've worked mostly with rapiers and fencing sabres, but a friend let me try his scimitar, once."

She liked it.

"A scimitar? Damn, they look like fun."

"They're amazing."

Adds detailing on the hilt, not really needed, but she likes it. Tongue sticking out of the side of her mouth, smile hovering on her lips, captures the curve of the blade.

"And once again I come to the conclusion that my period in history was so incredibly backward."

"You've never tried one?"

Shakes her head, eyes laughing.

"A tradgedy."

"Nope. Never got a chance. We didn't even have stirrups."

Grins.

"I'll find one, let you try it. Talk to a guy named Lawrence, wears robes, smells like the desert. He's got one. Tell him I sent you."

"Sure thing."

He gets a bright smile, dips her head for a second, one hand absently coming up to tuck a piece of hair behind her ear, draw the blanket up a little.

And a muffled curse as a line goes wonky.

She tries again, erasing, but her hand shakes slightly, and she swears again.

"Godsdamn."

"Take a break? Or am I distracting you?"

She laughs quietly.

"Depends on if you were planning to distract me some more. But yeah, a break might be nice."

A thoughtfully quirked eyebrow.

"Indeed?"
