The Door opens and Nathan walks in, grinning as he sees the place.

"About time..."

He settles down at a booth and orders a beer and a plate os spaghetti before glancing around, letting his mind trip around thre room for familiar voices.

He draws in a brath and lets it out.

::I would love to have a relationship with you, Alice... the questions is, is either of us ready for that kind of thing?::

::As I would with you. Although, that really poses a good question. Do you think you are?::

He thinks about it, but knows his answer.

::I feel like I should eb cautious, but truth is, I feel like I am... I washurt badly by the last woman I loved... and I dont know if this is love yet, but... I know that if it isnt now, it could easily become that. I would like to find out... with you. But, only if you are willing also.::

::And I've lost people I care about.:: Matt died back in Raccoon City. Taking the Nemesis Project with him.

::But I'd like to try.::

Which probably meant no more flirting and kissing on Parker even if she did enjoy that quite a bit.

He reaches for her chin and turns it slightly, to kiss her.

::What do you know... that only took us... several weeks...::

There is a mental chuckle.

::But I am glad to take time with you... all the time it takes. So... girlfriend? Ladyfriend? Lover? Which would you prefer?::

She kisses him back.

::Yes, it did take us that long if not a bit longer::

There's a slight mental chuckle of her own.

::Well, more than likely girlfriend. I already talked to someone else and ended up calling you my boyfriend.::

He grins a little goofily at that.

::Oh, reallly?::

He eyes her.

::I admit to telling the sister about you... thought not much yet. I wasnt sure what you would want her to know. ::

he smiles as he traces a pattern down her arm.

::I respect your privacy.::

::Yes, really.::

She tilts her head up a bit and looks at him.

::Thank you, Nathan.::

He smiles.

::Always, Alice. I was raised and grew up in a world of war. Bonds between two were a union, not as unity. a joining of two as two in one, not a making of one out of two. Each seperate and equal and connected by bonds of choice and emotion and desire.::

His hands stroke up her sides.

Right... and that probably all just went over the bio weapon's head though she thinks she gets the gist of it. Maybe.

he eyes her.

::Did I slip into Askani there for a moment?::

His thoughts are full of humor at himself for waxing wide-eyed

::I have no clue what you slipped into but I think I got the jist of whatever it was.::

::Okay.. basically, it just means that I was raised to believe that two people who choose to be together are still two people, even if there is also the couple-ness going on.::

he grins and kisses her.

She kisses him back.

::You didn't have to explain it.::

::Oh... er... yeah, well... communication is good?::

he grins sheepishly at her, his hands settling around her and holding her close.

::Yes, communication is good.::

He grins at her.

::Hmmm, do we need rules? I never have been to good at setting ground rules... and I havent had enouigh relationships to really know what they should be...::

She gives him a grin back.

::Hmm... yeah, we'll want ground rules.::

he wraps a hand up around her to gently rub her neck, soothing muscles as he thinks.

::The obvious one is this is the relationship we are working on, so no getting into other ones while we are at it... hmmm... where do we stand as far as sex? I admit to wincing a bit at the thought of you with someone else, but if we are just working on it and not completely a couple, it feels a little odd to tell you that you couldnt have it withoh someone else... ::

he glances up at her eyes, uncertain.

::What do you think?::

Alice closes her eyes relaxing into the touch.

::Since we're working on it, if we decide someone is worthy or... we can't say that we're not allowed. Which means that teasing and kissing is allowed.::

She thinks about that a moment.

::And if it has to be with someone or we do end up doing that we have to make sure we don't gain too many feelings for them that would compromise what we're trying to accomplish.::

He nods, continuing the massage.

::Sounds right... so nothing serious outside of us, until we can either make this work, or not make it work... ::

He leans his head against her neck from behind, thinking.

::And honesty... about whatever happens. Just so neither of us starts making assumptions.::

::Yes. And honesty. A good relationship can't work without that.::

Now they just have to determine if what happened before this conversation should be told or if it should just be considered null and void since they just now set out the ground rules.

he grins and kisses her again. He moves his massage into her arms.

Well, the rules are just now set.

::I have loved before, but everytime it ended badly. I am holding out hope for better things... and if this becomes love, then hope for better endings.::

She kisses him back.

::I've loved before but it wasn't real. The whole marriage was a fake. Then there was Matt who became part of the Nemesis Project. In the end in died.::

He nods.

::So we shall just have to see what possibilities are in store::

He grins and kisses her back, and her neck.
