"Pikachu?" It's not sure what those plants have done to deserve the haranguing they're getting, but the pikachu is glad that it is not them.

"Pikapi?" it asks the other pokemon. Long time no see, after all. But the bulbasaur seems to be getting settled in nicely.

Bulbasaur looks up at the distraction, and smiles as it recognizes its friend. "Saur bulbabulbasaur saur saur. Saurbulba?"

"Pikachupika," it replies, then pokes at the thistles. "Pika?" Are they edible? Because, y'know, it'll take them off the Bulbasaur's hands...

er, paws.

Feet, anyway.

Feet, most probably.

Bulbasaur shakes its head. "Bulbasaur bulba. Saursaursaur." Sad grey donkeys might like to eat them, in some other fandom, but they are a bit prickly for pokémon. However, over there...

Are those... wild onions?

IT IS SO THERE.

We are go for test gnawing!

The reptilian pokémon uproots several of the scallion-like weeds and passes them to the rodent, then selects one for itself.

"Saursaurbulba, bulbasaur." it say, munching.

"Pikapi!" It licks the other pokemon in thanks (hmm... leafy), then settles down to munch on some fresh-grown delicious.

"Pi pi pi, pikachu pi pikapika. Chupi, pikapika chu?" It gestures at the garden.

Eee, tickles. Not that Bulbasaur lets on about that.

"Saur bulbasaur saur," it says in response to the question. Ear twitch. Technically there's work to do, moving those thistles and such, but there should be time for a tour. Bulbasaur nods.

"Saur!" it says, trotting off. It can show Pikachu the rose bushes, and the irises, and the sweet-pea trellis, and the morning glories...

"Pikaaaa...." It's never seen such a smorgasbord of plants! There is experimental nibbling. A lot of it.

Bulbasaur winces a bit at this. Asar-Suti will probably not be terribly pleased with munch-marks. "Saursaur," it says, holding up a vine cautioningly.

"kachuu?"

Its ears droop. Not even a little bite?

"Saur..." Well, maybe a little bite... off the ones in the back... where it doesn't show so much... But not too much.

"Saursaurbulbasaur saur, bulba bulbasaur bulba. Saur?"
Besides, it's not terribly good for the plants.

".....chu?" It blinks.

But plants are for eating, right? RIGHT?

Well, not all plants. Not the healthy, pretty plants. They're for looking at, not eating.

"Saursaur bulba, bulbasaur bulba."

Distraction may be in order. Ah, yes. Heheheh. A sly expression flits over Bulbasaurs face momentarily.

"Saursaur bulba, bulbasasaur?" it asks casually, ambling toward a huge bed of impatiens.

"Pikapika?" It tilts its head, ambling behind curiously. "Pikachu."

Bulbasaur steps cautiously into the midst of the plants, motioning for Pikachu to follow.

Amble amble amble POFF

"KACHUU!" it squeaks, parctically levitating in shock.

POFF POFF POFF! More seed pods explode, showering the yellow beastie in flower seeds. Bulbasaur flops over on its side, laughing.

"Piiiikaaaa-chnf!" It sneezes as it lands, then shoots the bulbasaur a look.

Then, waves its arms, wafting the seeds toward the other pokemon. "Pi!"

Bulbasaur tries to stop laughing and looks a bit chastened as the little green seeds bounce off of its forehead. It hadn't meant for Pikachu to get any up its nose.

Unfortunately the arm-waving has set off another round of ripe seed-pods.

POFF POFF POFF! POFF!

It's getting the hang of things now!

The beastie pokes a seed pod near the bulbasaur.

SEED CONFETTI IN YOUR FACE!

Ptooey! Mouth was still open, there! Still, Bulbasaur has to admit that it deserved that. Yet... POFF POFF

"Chuuuu!" it squeaks at the return volley. No fair fighting back!

This calls for a more direct approach! POUNCE!

Rar! It has been pounced! Luckily the resulting roll-and-tumble landed them outside of the impatiens bed with a minimum of squashed plants. The flower pods involved give them a rounding sendoff of POFFs, scattering seeds everywhere.

And next year, when the impatiens are running rampant, Bulbasaur's not gonna say a word.

Not that anyone would understand it, anyway.

"Pikachu!" it announces proudly, then gnaws playfully on the bulbasaur's ear.

"Saur!" an equally playful swat at the pikachu's tail.

"Saursaur bulba, bulbasasaur." It plucks a few of the impatiens that look the worse for wear, and offers them for munching.

Even better.

Granted, they're not cheese fries or candy, but food is always good.

"Pifa?" it asks, mouth full, offering one.

Yeah, there's not too much in the garden that's really like cheese fries or candy. Bulbasaur shakes its head.

"Saurbulba bulbasaur, saur saur saur." There's the getting-back-to-work factor to be considered, too, unless Pikachu has something else in mind?

Pikachu only has one thing in mind.

That thing is food.

It oblingingly hops off the bulbasaur and even helps it up.

"Pikapikachu."

And if there happen to be any weeds that nobody would miss? Well, it's perfectly happy to help with their disposal!

"Saurbulbasaur saur!" Help is always welcome. While Bulbasaur has plans for that particular bunch of thistles, there are plenty of other weeds in the garden that won't be missed.

Focusing on the stuff that would just end up in the compost pile anyway, Bulbasaur weeds away, offering its yellow companion various types of roughage to nibble as it goes.

This, the pikachu firmly believes, is the best job ever.

Well, except maybe scrithy-receiver or candy-eater.

"Pikapi!" it croons happily, tail waggling with cheer.

"Saursasaur, bulba-saur, saursaurbulba-saur," Bulbasaur half-hums, half-sings as it works. This is fun. Maybe Pikachu could talk to Asar-Suti and get a job in the garden, too.

The saurian gets to thinking. Pikachu seems to have been here a long time, but it hadn't mentioned either a job or a tab before. It stops humming.

"Saursaur, bulbasaur?" it asks, looking at the beastie.

Blink. "Pikachu?" It tilts its head, one ear flipping in confusion.

"Saur bulbasaur." It stops working and faces its friend. "Saur bulba bulbasaursaur, saur?"

It produces the now-well-worn tab notice, for reference.

It sniffs at the notice, then eyes it, puzzled. This has no drawings of pikachus, so it can't be good for anything.

"Pika?"

This time Pikachu gets a look, as Bulbasaur begins to sum up the letter aloud.

"Saursaur bulba, bulbasaur saur, saur, bulba, saursaur bulba bulbasaur. Bulbasaursaur saur bulbasasaur bulba. Bulbasasaursasaur bulba bulbasaur bulba." It looks at Pikachu again. "Saur?"

One ear twitches.

It gnaws on its foot.

"Pikachu kapi pika? Chu pi chu." That's never come up for it. Weird.

Blink. Blink. Headshake. Oh well.

"Saur bulba bulbasaursaur. Bulbasaursaursasasaur. Bulba?"

Bulbasaur sits down and scratches behind one ear with a hind foot. It surveys the garden. Perhaps they've done enough ~~damage~~ work today. And hadn't Pikachu said something earlier about cheesefries? It stands up.

"Bulba sa-saur!" it shouts, dashing toward the door to the bar.

"Piiiikaaaa!" it squeals, dashing after.
