Richard's at the bar with a pint of lager and a distinct lack of children. He's leaning back on the barstool and toying with a red ring on his thumb.

He laughs. "It will take no more than a thought. In fact--" He closes his eyes a moment, smiles and opens them. "Done. In purple. It's a good color for children."

"We are so very spoiled. Thank you, Chris."

"I like spoiling you," Chris protests. "It gives me joy to make you happy, and making your children happy makes you happy . . . everyone wins."

He gives a soft smile.

"I know I won months ago when I met you."

Chris smiles and kisses him. "Anything I say in response to that would sound immodest."

He smirks.

"And you are the soul of modesty, my love."

"Aren't I just," He says, beaming. "I didn't name myself the beloved of the universe, you know."

He lightly rubs noses with Chris.

"And who did? Though you are."

He shrugs. "Some storyteller. I don't remember."

He relaxes back.

"There are stories about me Below. It's a bit weird, really."

"Tales are important," Chris says softly. "They keep memory alive."

He shrugs.

"Not sure if it's really worth remembering."

"It is, my dear." He strokes Richard's hair and kisses his forehead. "You did amazing things in London Below. Not all men are so strong."

"I'm just glad it's over. I never should have gone back."

Chris rubs his back soothingly and kisses him again. "It's hard to find your place," he says gently. "You took a roundabout way, is all."

He steals another kiss. They're addictive.

"Aye, it was worth it to be where I am now. I'm glad I have my boys and that I met you and Loki and the others. But, sometimes I wish I could still hail a cab or watch the telly."

"Even the television doesn't see you?" He tsks.

He shakes his head.

"No, most modern electronics don't work for me. But I can usually manage vending machines, the trains, and Da's old turntable. Got a good antique radio too. Who needs surroundsound?"

Chris studies him, and then presses his palm to Richard's forehead and says quietly, "Hm."

Richard feels warmth and love wash over him and takes a moment to melt into it.

"mmmmmmmmm..."

"If I . . . change something . . . here . . ." Chris murmurs. "Hmm."

Richard blinks and twitches.

"Whatwasthat?"

"Just an adjustment. The television should work for you now. And salespeople should notice you, though they may not remember you after you leave." He scrubs his hand through Richard's hair and grins at him. "We'll see how that works before I try anything larger."

He blinks a bit more.

"Thanks."

He shakes his head out again, and then curls back into Chris' side.

"Y'know. I've never thought to ask for help on that. Seems a bit silly now."

"Some things you can't ask for, I think. They just have to . . . happen."

More kisses. He likes those.
