(no subject)
It's been a while since Max has been in the bar. Visibly, anyway, though she's good enough at going unnoticed that she may have just been unseen.
Either way, she's here now, stalking through the door, jaw set and eyes narrowed. Her attention isn't on anything in the bar, though. Or rather, nothing she hadn't brought with her. One hand is curled around a newspaper of some sort, hard enough to crumple the lower edges, and her eyes are fixed on the photo on the front page. 'Unhappy' does not really cover her expression.
Anyone care to distract the X5?

"I noticed. That's why I said hi. What's wrong?"
no subject
"Trouble. At home."
no subject
But she won't accept his help, so why bother offering?
"What's up?"
no subject
She might actually be serious on this one...
no subject
A glance over at the Real Tim sitting at his table.
"The big guy can."
no subject
Max, afraid of approaching a mage of Real Tim's power for help?
Fuck, yes.
no subject
Thought.
"I could ask him, if you want. He owes me big time, for making me leave."
no subject
She considers seriously for a long moment, before finally shaking her head.
"No. Like I said, I don't know if I could've stopped it, if I knew ahead of time. And don't know what else might've happened instead. Though it could hardly have been worse."
no subject
That's worse indeed.
no subject
Which isn't quite an argument.

Or anyone else? A butterfly flaps it's wings in Japan and we get a hurricane here.
no subject
"I'll settle for trying not to let too many people get killed in the fallout."
no subject
And he forces a smile.
no subject
She eyes him narrowly for a moment.
"What's wrong?"
no subject
He glances away.
"I'm leaving. For good."
no subject
Beat.
"Why?"
no subject
He shrugs.
"The big guy says it is time to move on, to prevent further damage from Tims."
