Guppy has a small, open cardboard box with him today.

If you listen carefully, it's meowing.

He's on the lookout for Amanda specifically, but if you should want to look at six week old kittens, feel free to stop by. The proud daddycat is under the table.

Guppy has attracted a curious onlooker.

"Cats?"

Guppy looks up and smiles.

"These two are for a friend, the large black one's mine."

"I see."

He's not interested in pets. He has a pet mechanical dragon in his room. Made of spoons. Or something. But one does not often see people carting a menagerie through Milliways. The occasional extraordinarily rude horse, maybe, but not multiple animals.

"Her kittens?" he asks, gesturing towards Scampi.

Scampi purrs and rubs against Faramir.

"His kittens, yes. Sort of an accident."

He extends a hand. "Dr Guppy Sandhu, nice to meet you."

Faramir takes the hand and shakes it in a swift, businesslike gesture. "I am Faramir of Gondor. And happy to meet you. You work in the infirmary, do you not?" He smiles at the cat and reaches to scritch him. "I have heard your name."

"Good to meet you Faramir. And yes, I work part time here and full time back home. Good things or bad?"

"Neither, really. Only in passing. There is a woman I know in the infirmary, and I seem to think I once saw a staff list of everyone who holds a position in the bar." He nods down to the badge on his belt. "I'm on backup Security."

"Always good to know a Security chap." Guppy says, gesturing to the empty seat in front of him.

"Who is it that you know in the infirmary?"

He hasn't admitted anyone over the last few days. Normally if he does he will stay there overnight to keep an eye on them, Holby permitting.

"A woman named Eowyn. She has been there quite some time. Since she arrived, in fact. She is recovering from the Black Breath and a broken arm."

It may be the look in his eyes, it may be the way he says her name, but it's obvious he's utterly lovestruck.

Guppy nods despite the fact that his mun has completely missed Eowyn being admitted and hadn't even heard of her until now.

"I've seen her around. But she isn't my patient so I couldn't tell you anything about her progress, even if you were a relative. Do you know whoe's treating her?"
