[OOM: Sixth night with Ruin - Gorlim arrives to find Ruin with Gabriel, who has been mistakenly handed off to the wrong Slim Shady Constantine Maroulis by Nerdanel. They have a hell of a fight which neither can win because they are identically matched. It ends when Ruin tells Gorlim about him and Mary Anne in Angband. Gorlim takes his son and leaves, claiming he doesn't need to stay any longer tonight because Ruin broke his word when he took Gabriel.
This is not threaded because the muns don't feel like it, but that's what happened.]
And now Gorlim is in the bar with murder in his eyes, blood on his clothes, and a terrified small child in his arms.
You needn't worry about the baby, though: just worry about what will happen if you come too close to this man and look at his son the wrong way. Go on and try it. This particular spot in the bar could use a bloodbath.
And oh yes, he is heavily armed. Approach at your own risk.
[ooc: But by no means should the narrative be considered a plot lock. All are welcome, as usual. :)]
[ooc the second: All threads below Guppy's to be millitimed after Nerdanel leaves with Gabriel, say thankya.]

He brings over Gabriel's favourite new food, softened and mashed apricots with mashed apples.
"Here. Give him this. It pleases him," he murmurs, offering the special child's spoon with the soft rubber over the silver. "And... do you want to tell me what has happened?"
The Vala slips into the booth seat beside Gorlim, ordering them both some apricot brandy, since he knows how much Gorlim likes it.

He takes the food, but Gabriel seems too terrified of whatever Gorlim did in there to even want to stay in his arms right now.
no subject
"You have scared him, Gorlim," he points out quietly, Gabriel's wide, wide eyes never leaving his Ada as he eats mechanically.
no subject
"He scared me too."
no subject
He wipes sticky fruit from Gabriel's mouth before continuing with the feeding.

She takes one look at Gorlim and Gabriel and is there in an instant.
"Gorlim! What happened?"
no subject
"Did you give Gabriel to Ruin??" he demands angrily. He hadn't believed it when Ruin said so.
no subject
"To... Ruin? No. You were in the hall. I gave him to you..."
Hadn't she?
no subject
"That... was NOT... me."
no subject
She reaches for her wriggling son.
"Gorlim, you're frightening him!"
Even more!

Guppy gets up from his table and goes over to Gorlim. He approaches from the front, hands out of his pockets.
There is a dangerous look in Gorlim right now, and he doesn't want to take chances.
"What has happened Gorlim?" he asks softly, wondering not for the first time when this poor man's suffering will end.
no subject
"Ruin had him. In his room. I got him back. He's all right."
no subject
He moves forward a little. "Is that your blood?"
no subject
Never mess with this dad.
no subject
"Will you let me check you both over? Please, just in case? I'm worried about you both."
He reaches a hand towards the frightened child, making hushing noises as he tries to soothe and distract him with finger wiggling.

Foolishly brave?
Bravely foolish?
Something else entirely as he approaches Gorlim, albeit tentatively?
"Gwador why are you so angry?"
Eyes sweep the state of Gorlim's attire.
"And bloody?"
no subject
no subject
He does.
He can't quite bring himself to blow off Gorlim like that.
"I'm not here to fight," he says after calling Gorlim several unpleasant names. "Or to hex you or cause you more pain than you're already in.
I saw you distressed; I came to help."
no subject
"You'd be better off hexing me. I'm no good to you. Just like I was no good to Lee or Namo or my son or Eilinel or anyone else."
He may have been drinking for a bit by now.
no subject
"Oh for Merlin's sake don't start beating yourself up now. The universe knows I do enough of that, and look where it gets me."
Too bad Rabastan is unlikely to heed his own advice on being both whipping boy and the one who weilds the whip.
So he sighs, grabs a chair, runs a hand through his hair.
"What's wrong now?"

Her mind is focused on whether to order a drink or food first, until she catches sight of Gorlim.
There is something very wrong here.
"Dove?"
no subject
He stands up. Menacingly. A hand on his knife.
"You." He steps closer to her, growling every word. "How much did you enjoy that show? Liked it so much you decided to screw the director while the world crumbled around us, didn't you?"
...He's had a bad night.

"You think I liked watching you die?"
She's wearing all three knives, as usual.
Her hands stay at her side.
no subject
Ohh, rage does not even COVER this. She's not the only one who's stung him tonight, either, and the others won't come near him right now.
"Am I going to have to make deals with you, too?? Do YOU want to see me bleed like he does and shove me down even FURTHER?"
no subject
Fuck the bar.
Fuck anyone listening.
Just yell.
Yell, and don't think.
Don't think, and don't cry.
"Don't you ever say that; don't you fucking dare. I am your FRIEND, goddammit and I would keep you from ever hurting if I could."
