[Delia was going to go to Ingress's party, but in the end...didn't. She was feeling edgy, but at same time in an odd haze.]

[it was strange, but she didn't think about it much. Instead, she just asked for a bottle of wine from Bar and found a booth to curl up in. Not one far away from people, just a booth]

Santino grinned again and sat, again a fluid motion.

"I'm relatively new, you see. I have only spent a few months here."

Over a year and a half for me.

"Truly? Are you Bound?"

Aye, I am.

"That's unfortunate." Eyes full of empathy. "I hope your stay hasn't been all bad- or at least, I hope it's improving."

It is better then it was.

Santino picked up the bottle of red wine and examined the label. "I would suggest something to go with the wine, but I fear I have no idea what brand it is."

"Olau? Then your world must be Tortall." Santino grinned. "I haven't been, but I have heard good things."

Oh? Who from?

"Thom of Trebond." He paused. "Do you know him?"

Since I was twelve.

Santino smiled. "You are friends, then?"

For a certain definition, yes.

"That is understandable. He doesn't seem terribly social."

Santino ordered another glass from a waitrat. "Would you mind sharing?" He asked. Santino probably meant the wine.

The wine? Of course not.

"Thank you." Santino poured himself a glass and took a sip. It certainly looked like he'd swallowed.

"Drinking alone is never fun."

[an odd smile]

No, not really.

"And dancing alone is even worse." A confidential grin.

[a soft, husky laugh]

Aye.

"Tortall must be populated by people with beautiful eyes." Santino said, taking another sip.

He grinned. "All the examples I've seen certainly do."

[Delia smiles]

Or perhaps those with the prettiest eyes merely end up here.

"Perhaps. Thankfully, both have achieved the same result."

Kind of you to say so.

"I must have just been born under a good star." He wasn't being entirely serious. "If you believe in such things."
