Redhead in the bar, brooding.

Shelley'll deny it, if she pays attention, but for now she's just sitting there with slowly cooling tea, gazing down sightlessly at the black mark around her finger.

Please do bother her.

She doesn't like being alone with her thoughts very much, these days.

Sharpe will! He offers her a slightly concerned smile from his seat nearby.

"Everything all right?"

"...Hm?"

Shelley looks up, blinking at the general direction of the voice.

"Oh. Um, yes. Fine, thanks. I was just..."

"Your tea's going cold", he points out.

[shelley_winters]

"...It is," she agrees, feeling the sides of the mug, and manages a sheepish smile.

"I was distracted, apparently. Thank you. Also, er, hello!"

"Hello", he answers, with a grin.

She sips it, and makes a face.

"Oh well. Still drinkable, if just about."

He eyes it dubiously.

"Wouldn't you rather have another cup?"

"Oh, I will," she assures him. "But I don't want to waste it if its not that bad."

Wasting caffeine is Wrong.

"If you say so."

Another doubtful glance at the cup, and he shrugs.

She sips again, valiantly, then puts it down.

"So. We haven't met before, have we? At least properly. I'm Shelley, and it's nice to meet you."

"Sharpe." He offers a hand. "Good to meet you too."

She leans over to shake it, catching herself before offering the marked left hand and taking his with her right.

"Have you been here long? You look vaguely familiar, so..."

"Aye, I've been coming and going for... better than a year, now."

"You okay Shelley?"

One Guppy, with coffee.

"Huh- oh."

She looks away from her hand.

"Hello, Guppy. Yes, I was just... thinking. About, er, nothing. How are you?"

Guppy smiles tiredly, eying the hand instinctively.

"I'm okay thanks. Things are busy back home. How are you?"

"Oh... okay."

Well, she hasn't been kidnapped for at least a fortnight? Er.

"You know. Same as ever."

She sips her tea, forgetting its coldness, and makes a peculiar face.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Do you want a fresh cup?" Guppy asks, having been watching her absently for a while. Beats paperwork.

She looks at it mournfully. It's bad to waste it...

"Oh..." The cup is replaced on Bar briefly. "Could you possibly warm this up a bit, Bar?" she asks, with the air of one experimenting.

Immediately, it begins to steam.

"Thank you!" she grins. To Guppy, "I just hate to waste it, you see."

"Fair enough. Must get a bit stewed after a while though. May I join you?"

"Of course you may! And stewed isn't so bad. It's all caffeine, which is nice."

[guppy_sandhu]

Guppy grins tiredly.

"Ah yes, can't forget the caffeine."

[shelley_winters]

"It is good," she grins back.

"Coffee if you need a quick jolt, but lots of cups of strong tea also gives a nice sustained awakeness."

She may have thought too much about this.

"Does it? I should try that. Too much caffeine gives me a headache."

[shelley_winters]

"Tea is good for that," she says firmly, warming her hands on the mug.
