Angel inna bar, to say nothing of the skirt... though the shirt is actually noteworthy, for once.
It's a white t-shirt, about three sizes too big for Angel, that says 'Error: smash head on keyboard to continue' across the front. Probably a remnant of a certain someone visiting.
In any case, Angel's at a table, eating dinner. Company would not be turned away.

"Hey. Nice shirt." Sara's probably looking much better than the last time Angel saw her.

"Can't really take that much credit for it - Collins left it here. But thanks. You're looking better."
Angel's inclined to take that as a sign things are looking up.

"My friend'll pull through. He'll be out for a couple of months but we're all relieved."

Angel grins. "That's great."

"Yeah. Maybe the multiverse will leave my section of it alone for a while."

She chuckles, taking a seat near Angel, shaking her head. "We also had another oddly amusing case."

"From the sound of things, you kinda needed the break. What's the funny story this time?"

"Well, we were called out to one of the railroad tracks near Vegas, one of the shipping lines. It first appeared that someone had committed suicide via lying on the tracks."

She continues on, explaining the victim's obsession with Civil War reenactments and participation in a duel, and how his "dresser" had accidentally shot him before disposing of the body in a way reminiscent of one of his ancestors' deaths.

"First time I'd ever had to reenact a duel using cameras."

And we have a gigglefit. "You might have to tell Mark about that one. He'll probably be sorry he missed it."

"I'll do that when Grissom's in here. He's annoyed that I took the shot faster than he did."

And Angel cracks up.
"I expect he'll survive, in the end."

"It's not like I'd lord it over him. Too much. That's more Catherine's style." She begins laughing.

"God. The look on my friend Greg's face when we found the guy's collection of corsets..."

"...Really. Hell, I might have to be sorry I missed that."

"Uh, not modern day corsets like you're probably thinking. A gentleman's corset, circa 1866. Seems it was fashionable for both men and women to have seventeen-inch waists. Biologically speaking, it wasn't particularly wise or healthy."

A shrug. "But some of those involved with reenactments insist on being as thorough as possible. The original duel started because a guy on the Union side answered his cell phone."

"...I'm really not sure where to start with that. Other than it's yet another fashion invention that guys seem to have given up on, far as the mainstream goes."

"I was oddly comforted by the knowledge that men have put themselves through torture in the name of fashion."

Angel grins. "My tendency toward tall shoes confuses people, sometimes. And they are a bitch, but it's worth it for a little extra height sometimes."

"Those are wicked heels," she comments, glancing down. "And I don't normally wear heels that tall anyway--height isn't really an issue for me. I do like the platforms better than stilettos, though."

"Stilettos aren't even an option. Tried them once, fell over three times in the space of ten minutes, not planning to repeat the experience."

"Yeah, balance is a real issue." She snickers again. "Had an old case, probably four years back, where a woman had tripped and fell over her balcony, while wearing stilettos. She was taller than me, so in the interest of accurate reconstruction of events, Grissom made my friend Nick wear a pair and reenact the event to the best of his ability. I'll have to bring the video sometime."

Angel cracks up again. "Poor guy."

"I'd never heard a grown man truly whine until then. And he thinks the tape's already been recycled. He should know better with us."

"Like you guys wouldn't keep such comedy gold as that must be."
