A shrug. "Seems like a pretty clean place all around."

Oh, did no one tell you?

"Oompa Loompas clean the place?"

yes.

Parker tells himself that this is not the strangest thing he's ever heard. It's not even the strangest thing that he's seen. Still.

"Well. They didn't get the ceilings."

I'll let you pass that on.

"Thanks," Parker says, dryly. "I'll let you get back to your reading."

Leaning in, "Not to ruin the ending, but they die."

[drily,]

I'm not reading it for the story.

"Good," he says. "It's a depressing story." Grinning he stands, sketches a mock bow and heads off.
